Book I
The arousing of thought
Gurdjieff introduces himself and his unconventional authorial method, warning readers that his writings are intentionally structured to bypass ‘fictitious consciousness’ and reach the subconscious, using the principle ‘if you go on a spree, then go the whole hog, including the postage’ as the governing creative law of the entire work.
- Gurdjieff refuses to write in ‘bon ton literary language,’ arguing that conventional literary style operates through automatized associations that bypass genuine understanding and lull readers rather than awakening them.
- The language of grammarians is composed by people who have no notion of the ’law of associations’ governing all human mentation, which the ancient Korkolans identified as the fundamental process of thought.
- He compares Russian and English to ‘solianka,’ a dish into which anything goes, suitable only for swapping anecdotes or discussing frozen meat, not for philosophical nuance.
- Human beings possess two independent consciousnesses — a ‘fictitious’ waking consciousness formed from mechanical impressions, and a real ‘subconscious’ formed from hereditary materialized results and intentional confrontation — and Gurdjieff’s writings are deliberately structured to reach both.
- Most new impressions, including almost all words, blend only with the fictitious consciousness and produce no lasting transformation in the presence of the being.
- The subconscious, formed partly from heredity and partly from intentionally evoked associative confrontations, should predominate in the common presence of a human being but rarely does.
- Three specific psychic data crystallized during Gurdjieff’s youth together determine his authorial personality: his grandmother’s injunction to never do as others do, a wisdom tooth knocked out in a fight that engendered incessant curiosity about causes, and a Russian merchant’s drunken formulation of ‘go the whole hog, including the postage.’
- “His grandmother’s dying words — ‘Either do nothing — just go to school — or do something nobody else does’ — became the chief directing lever of his entire being.” —Gurdjieff’s grandmother
- The knocked-out seven-pronged wisdom tooth caused a chronic oozing that, as later explained by a meteorologist friend, aroused an instinctive tendency to seek the causes of every suspicious actual fact.
- The principle ‘if you go on a spree, then go the whole hog, including the postage,’ first uttered by an anonymous Russian merchant, was identified by Gurdjieff via Allan Kardec as having become one of the chief life-principles on all planets of the Universe.
- I shall expound my thoughts intentionally in such a sequence and with such logical confrontation that the essence of certain real ideas may pass automatically from this ‘waking consciousness,’ which most people in their ignorance mistake for the real consciousness, but which I affirm and experimentally prove is the fictitious one, into what you call the ‘subconscious.’
- The story of the Transcaucasian Kurd who kept eating red pepper pods because he paid for them illustrates the human inherency Gurdjieff deliberately exploits: people compelled to consume to the end what they have paid for, motivating him to print the first chapter so it can be read without cutting the book’s pages.
- “The Kurd continued eating despite burning pain, saying ‘Even if my soul departs from my body, I will go on eating,’ because he had paid his last six coppers.” —Transcaucasian Kurd
- Gurdjieff uses this principle as one of the foundational structural devices of his new literary form, creating discomfort that nonetheless compels continued reading.
- The story of Karapet of Tiflis, who cursed all directions before releasing the station steam whistle each morning, illustrates that preemptively directing negative intent neutralizes the maleficent vibrations others involuntarily send toward those who disturb them — a principle Gurdjieff claims governs his own relationship with readers he is about to disturb.
- Karapet reasoned that everyone woken by the whistle blasts curses him, sending vibrations of malice toward his person, and that pre-cursing them prevents these vibrations from taking effect.
- This story serves Gurdjieff as a self-exculpation for violating Mullah Nasr Eddin’s commandment ‘Never poke your stick into a hornets’ nest.’
- Gurdjieff announces that his chief literary hero will be Beelzebub himself, chosen partly by cunning: paying Beelzebub the attention of making him a protagonist will enlist his help, since even beings ‘of a different clay’ respond to vanity — and the scale of the work will be the entire Universe rather than the paltry Earth.
- Contemporary writers take Earth-scale themes; because of his grandmother’s injunction and the ‘whole hog’ principle, Gurdjieff cannot confine himself to mere terrestrial subjects.
- The heroes of these writings will be of such a kind that readers must sense them as real somebodies — not the Toms, Dicks, and Harrys who cultivate lasciviousness, mawkishness, and envy.

Prologue Why Beelzebub was in our solar system
The narrative frame is established: Beelzebub, traveling on the trans-space ship Karnak with his grandson Hassein and servant Ahoon, is a once-exiled being who intervened in cosmic governance in his youth and was banished to the remote solar system Ors, later pardoned after the mission of Ashiata Shiemash.
- Beelzebub was exiled from the Sun Absolute to the solar system Ors because, as a young being with unformed Reason, he found something ‘illogical’ in the government of the world and, rallying comrades, nearly brought the central kingdom of the Megalocosmos to revolution.
- His intervention was driven by youthful and impetuous mentation with unequally flowing associations — natural for beings not yet fully responsible.
- His Endlessness, despite all-lovingness and all-forgivingness, was constrained to banish Beelzebub and his comrades, assigning them the planet Mars with the privilege of existing on other planets of that solar system.
- On Mars, Beelzebub established an observatory that became famous throughout the Universe for its ability to observe remote cosmic concentrations and the conditions of existence on neighboring planets, turning exile into productive cosmic scholarship.
- The exiled colony on Mars accommodated itself gradually, with many beings finding occupations on Mars or neighboring planets that had been neglected due to their remoteness from the Center.
- Beelzebub’s observatory would later house a teskooano capable of increasing visibility of remote cosmic concentrations by 7,000,285 times.
- Beelzebub’s pardon was granted at the petition of Ashiata Shiemash, a Messenger sent from the Sun Absolute to the planet Earth, whose mission Beelzebub had assisted — demonstrating that conscious service to higher purposes can redeem even serious cosmic transgressions.
- After his pardon, Beelzebub’s influence and authority had greatly increased rather than declined, since all recognized that long years in unaccustomed conditions had inevitably broadened and deepened his knowledge.

The cause of a delay in the falling of the Karnak
The Karnak’s course is blocked by the comet Sakoor’s trail of noxious zilnotrago, and Beelzebub decides to stop and wait rather than detour, turning the forced delay into an opportunity for conversation and storytelling — establishing the narrative occasion for all that follows.
- When faced with an obstacle created by forces immeasurably greater than one’s own — here, the comet Sakoor’s zilnotrago trail — the only wise response is submission rather than resistance, choosing whichever option causes least damage to one’s own resources.
- “Beelzebub cites Mullah Nasr Eddin: ‘You can’t jump over your knees, and it’s absurd to try to kiss your own elbow!’ as the guiding wisdom for such situations.” —Beelzebub
- He chooses waiting over detour specifically to spare the ship useless mechanical damage, prioritizing long-term integrity over marginal time savings.
- Hassein’s joy at the delay — because it means more of his grandfather’s tales — reveals his understanding that his grandfather’s stories are the primary medium for crystallizing new information in his presence, while Ahoon’s accusation of ’egoism’ prompts Hassein to articulate the distinction between selfish pleasure and grateful reception of wisdom.
- Hassein argues that his grandfather had already decided to stop after weighing all circumstances with wise Reason, so the delay serves everyone; his joy is not egoism but gratitude for a providential coincidence.
- Hassein explicitly frames the tales as occasions where ’new and interesting information is crystallized in our presences’ — using Gurdjieff’s technical vocabulary of psychic crystallization for learning.

The law of falling
The captain explains how Saint Venoma discovered the ’law of falling’ — that everything in the Universe falls toward the nearest stability (a sun or planet as center of gravity) — and engineered the first ships to exploit this law for locomotion, though these ships proved difficult to maneuver near large cosmic concentrations.
- Saint Venoma, while residing on the Holy Planet Purgatory, discovered the ’law of falling,’ which states that everything existing falls toward the nearest stability — defined as the center of gravity of the nearest sun or planet — and that this cosmic property could be utilized for intersystem locomotion.
- The centers of all suns and planets are precisely the points of stability toward which forces from all directions of a given region inexorably converge, making them the ‘bottom’ for their surrounding space.
- Saint Venoma’s ships used rays of elekilpomagtistzen passed through special glass to destroy atmospheric resistance in their path, creating an absolute vacuum through which the ship could be moved by even an infant’s push.
- Despite being ideal in atmosphereless space, Saint Venoma’s ships became extremely difficult to navigate near suns and planets because the law of falling would immediately pull the ship off course, requiring constant highly skilled maneuvering and reducing speed hundreds of times — demonstrating that every cosmic law exploited for convenience also imposes corresponding difficulties.
- The beings entrusted to direct these ships had to be prepared by beings of very high Reason due to the constant danger of falling off course near large concentrations.
- Navigation was particularly dangerous in regions with large aggregations of comets.

The system of Archangel Hariton
The captain describes Archangel Hariton’s invention — a cylinder-barrel whose specially arranged inner materials cause any atmospheric substance entering it to expand and escape through a hinged lid, driving levers and fans — which solved Saint Venoma’s maneuverability problems by using atmospheric resistance itself as the motive force.
- Archangel Hariton’s cylinder exploits the property of its inner wall materials — arranged in a specific order and isolated by amber — to cause any atmospheric substance entering it to expand beyond the interior’s capacity, driving a hinged lid that operates levers and fans; the denser the surrounding substance, the faster the mechanism works.
- In atmosphereless space, the ship still operates by the law of falling toward the nearest stability, requiring no work from the cylinder; the cylinder activates only when atmospheric resistance is present.
- Contemporary ships using this system can be given an impetus in any direction and fall wherever intended without the complicated maneuvers required by Saint Venoma’s system.

Perpetual motion
Beelzebub recognizes Archangel Hariton’s cylinder as the ‘perpetual motion’ that terrestrial beings obsessively and fruitlessly sought for generations, noting the irony that what they imagined as a simple miracle had already been realized on a cosmic scale, while Earth’s ‘cranks’ destroyed themselves pursuing it without the necessary understanding.
- The mania for perpetual motion on Earth illustrates how three-brained terrestrial beings, lacking genuine knowledge, collectively pursue a real cosmic principle while remaining incapable of actualizing it — the ‘rage’ consuming thousands and sending many to lunatic asylums was only ended when an old authority proved by private calculations that it was impossible.
- Beelzebub visited a town where a large collection of models and descriptions of proposed perpetual motion mechanisms had been gathered, finding that the idea of using ‘force of weight’ — a falling weight to lift itself again — predominated.
- Hariton’s cylinder is the genuine realization: as long as the Universe contains atmospheres around planets, the cylinder will work perpetually without requiring outside materials.
- The cylinder’s principal parts are made of amber with platinum hoops and inner surfaces of anthracite, copper, ivory, and a special mastic — designed for extreme longevity — while outer levers and cogwheels require periodic renewal, illustrating the cosmic distinction between enduring structural principles and their transient mechanical expressions.
- The special mastic is unaffected by paischakir, tainolair, saliakooriap, or even the radiations of cosmic concentrations.

Becoming aware of genuine being-duty
Hassein’s melancholy reflection on the labor of past beings who created present conveniences — labor performed for entirely unknown future beneficiaries — leads Beelzebub to counsel patience: the young are not yet obliged to pay for their existence, but must daily practice bringing consciousness into contact with their unconscious parts to prepare for responsible life.
- Genuine being-duty — the obligation to pay for one’s existence through conscious work — is not yet required of young beings, but daily practice of bringing waking consciousness into intentional contact with unconscious presence is the indispensable preparation for this duty in responsible age.
- Beelzebub advises that every day at sunrise Hassein should create a state of contact between his consciousness and the unconscious parts of his common presence, convincing those parts that if they hinder general functioning now, they will be unable to enjoy good in responsible age.
- The recognition that all contemporary advantages were created by past beings who consciously or unconsciously labored for entirely unknown future others generates an authentic impulse Hassein calls ‘remorse of conscience.’

The impudent brat Hassein, Beelzebub’s grandson, dares to call men “slugs”
Beelzebub reacts with theatrical alarm to Hassein’s casual insult of humanity as ‘slugs,’ using this occasion to illustrate the peculiar psychology of terrestrial three-brained beings — specifically their elaborate ritual of anathema — as a characteristic example of the strangeness of their psyche.
- When insulted, contemporary terrestrial beings respond not by direct retaliation but by elaborate institutional ritual — convening solemn councils, electing presidents, conducting trials by majority vote, and ultimately issuing formal anathemas — a procedure Beelzebub presents as a characteristic expression of their bizarre collective psyche.
- The anathema would take the form of specially designated officials in churches, chapels, synagogues, and town halls formally wishing the offender such things as premature gray hair, food turning to coffin nails, and a wife’s tongue growing three times its length.
- The process of trial and anathema would proceed through multiple institutional levels — first a local solemn council, then referral to the Holy Synod — before arriving at the conclusion that the accused is unreachable.

The first growl
The story of a Russian writer whose ‘gospel’ was officially anathematized by power-possessing beings demonstrates the paradox central to terrestrial psychology: public condemnation by authorities functions as the most effective advertisement, because beings there form convictions not through their own reflection but entirely through the opinions of others.
- A contemporary Russian writer who composed a new ‘gospel’ — motivated partly by cultural aspiration and partly by the favorable exchange rate of English pounds and dollars — found that official anathematization by power-possessing beings caused his reputation to explode, because the three-brained beings there take their convictions entirely from what Smith or Brown says rather than from their own verification.
- The power-possessing beings anathematized him because his gospel appeared at the moment when ordinary beings had finally awakened from torpor due to excessive taxation, and the authorities needed to suppress anything preventing a return to hibernation.
- The result was that his name became known almost everywhere as that of an excellent writer, and anything he ever wrote was regarded as indisputable truth — even though most who discussed him had never read a single one of his books.

Why in man’s Reason fantasy may be perceived as reality
Beelzebub explains that terrestrial beings confuse fantasy for reality because they have ceased to fulfill ‘being-partkdolgduty’ — the active confrontation of new impressions with previously acquired data — and instead crystallize convictions solely from the opinions of others, a degeneracy caused not by kundabuffer but by the abnormal conditions of existence they themselves established.
- The root cause of terrestrial beings’ inability to distinguish fantasy from reality is not the organ kundabuffer or its consequences but the abnormal conditions of external ordinary being-existence they gradually established themselves, which fostered ‘self-calming’ — their chief ‘inner evil god’ — as a habitual substitute for genuine active reflection.
- Being-partkdolgduty requires confronting each new impression with data already deposited in all three being-centers, producing subjective conviction through active mentation rather than passive absorption.
- When Beelzebub personally met the celebrated writer in question, he found him extremely limited — ‘unable to see further than his nose’ — and a complete ignoramus regarding the real psyche of his planet’s beings.

Introducing a perspective that promises nothing very cheerful
Beelzebub outlines the fundamental abnormalities of terrestrial three-brained beings — including the unique cosmic phenomenon of ‘war,’ and properties such as egoism, vanity, suggestibility, and credulity — and announces he will recount his six personal descents to Earth in chronological order to give Hassein a clear understanding of their strange psyche.
- The most terrible abnormal property of terrestrial beings’ common psyche is ‘suggestibility,’ which is unique to their planet and works in tandem with egoism, self-love, vanity, pride, conceit, and credulity to make them susceptible to collective psychoses such as war — the process of mutual destruction of existence found nowhere else in the Universe.
- All these abnormal properties are crystallized in every terrestrial being regardless of where they arise and exist, making them universal features of that planet’s three-brained beings rather than regional or individual variations.
- Great Nature was compelled by the deteriorating quality of terrestrial beings’ radiations to gradually transform their common presence through various compromises and to increase their numbers across all lands in order to maintain the vibrations required for the welfare of the former planetary fragments.

Beelzebub’s first descent to the planet Earth
Beelzebub’s first descent was occasioned by a young kinsman who made an ill-advised wager with King Appolis of Samlios, pledging to fund the treasury if the king governed only by the kinsman’s indicated methods — which proved disastrous — and was resolved by replacing all government officials with beings of Beelzebub’s tribe to absorb the rage of the inevitable revolution.
- The wager between the naive young kinsman and King Appolis reveals how the consequence of kundabuffer — the crystallized habit of fulfilling obligations only under threat — makes benevolent governance impossible: when the king adopted the kinsman’s humane methods, subjects not only stopped paying taxes but began pilfering what had already been deposited.
- King Appolis, called ‘Arch-Cunning’ behind his back, used varied and reasonable intimidation methods to extract what was needed from subjects in whom kundabuffer’s consequences had been thoroughly crystallized.
- The kinsman had signed the wager agreement with his blood — and for beings of Beelzebub’s tribe, a voluntarily assumed obligation signed in blood is absolutely binding regardless of consequences.
- The solution — replacing all government officials with beings of Beelzebub’s tribe and conducting propaganda so the people’s revolutionary fury fell on the officials rather than the king — succeeded perfectly, illustrating that terrestrial revolutionaries invariably destroy precisely those beings who have progressed furthest in freeing themselves from kundabuffer’s consequences.
- “King Appolis himself acknowledged responsibility, saying his long experience with terrestrial conditions should have allowed him to foresee what the naive but highly Reasoning kinsman could not.” —King Appolis
- The ordinary beings who fell into revolutionary psychosis ‘grieved’ for their king and pitied him, believing he had been surrounded by disloyal subordinates — exactly the outcome that had been engineered.
- Atlantis at this period was the principal continent and greatest community on Earth, and the young kinsman had arrived there 350 Martian years earlier — establishing that Beelzebub’s observations of Earth span an immense period predating the continent’s eventual submergence.
- The ship Occasion, which transported Beelzebub’s tribe to the solar system, had been placed under his supreme command from Above and served as the vessel for interplanetary communication throughout this period.

The relativity of the concept of Time
Beelzebub explains that Time has no objective source of arising and can only be evaluated by comparison — establishing objective and subjective scales of temporal experience — and demonstrates through calculation that although Hassein is twelve years old by Karatas reckoning, this is equivalent to 4,668 Earth-years, before connecting the relativity of time to the catastrophic shortening of terrestrial beings’ lifespans.
- Objective Science defines Time as having no source of arising and no existence in itself — it is only the totality of results issuing from all cosmic phenomena in a given place — making it uniquely subjective among cosmic phenomena, defined only by the standard unit of ‘sacred egokoolnatsnarnian sensation’ experienced by Holy Cosmic Individuals on the Sun Absolute.
- Time cannot be sensed by any gradation of instinct, perceived by any outer or inner being-function, or understood by Reason alone — it can only be evaluated by comparing different cosmic phenomena occurring under the same conditions in the same place.
- The Heropass — another name for Time — ‘issuing from nothing but always blending with everything while remaining self-sufficiently independent’ is unique in the whole of the Universe, comparable only to ‘divine Love’ in flowing independently and blending proportionately with all arisings everywhere.
- The drop of water example demonstrates that subjective time-flow is consistent across all cosmic scales: the infinitesimal beings (‘microcosmoses’) in a single drop of water experience the complete sequence of birth, growth, sex, illness, suffering, and death in what appears from outside to be only minutes or seconds — the same proportional temporal experience as beings at every other cosmic scale.
- Even ‘hypochondriacs’ among such microcosmoses might experience time as dragging phenomenally tediously — exactly as hypochondriacs do among terrestrial beings — despite their entire existence lasting only a few terrestrial seconds.
- Because a single Karatas year equals 389 Earth krentonalnian revolutions, Hassein’s twelve Karatas years correspond to 4,668 Earth-years — illustrating both the vast temporal scales of cosmic existence and the profound relativity of what terrestrial beings consider meaningful units of time.
- Normal three-brained beings sense the sacred egokoolnatsnarnian action 49 times more slowly than Sacred Individuals on the Sun Absolute, making the time-flow for Karatas beings 49 times faster than on the Sun Absolute.
- These calculations were provided partly by the Arch-Engineer Archangel Algamatant during the first misfortune to Earth, and partly by the captain of the trans-space ship Omnipresent.
- The shortening of terrestrial lifespan from the fulasnitamnian principle (existing until the kesdjan body is fully coated and perfected in Reason) to the itoklanotz principle (existing as one- or two-brained beings do, for purely local cosmic purposes) was forced upon Great Nature by terrestrial beings’ abnormal existence and their destruction of other planetary beings — reducing the duration of their existence to what Beelzebub calls ‘almost nothing’ in the objective sense.
- The fulasnitamnian principle requires existence until the astral or kesdjan body is completely perfected in Reason — something contemporary terrestrial beings no longer achieve because of their abnormal conditions.
- Great Nature herself was compelled to bring terrestrial three-brained beings’ presence into conformity with the itoklanotz principle because their emanations no longer served common-cosmic purposes and they were destroying the other beings needed for this.

The arch-absurd: According to the assertion of Beelzebub, our sun neither lights nor heats
Beelzebub introduces the ‘arch-absurd’ — that terrestrial beings are categorically convinced light and heat come directly from the sun, when in reality the sun’s surface is covered in ice — as an entry point for explaining the Omnipresent Okidanokh and the cosmic processes that actually produce atmospheric phenomena such as daylight, darkness, heat, and cold.
- The sun’s surface, like all ordinary suns in the Universe, is covered in ice rather than being a source of heat and light — atmospheric phenomena on planets arise from the Omnipresent Okidanokh and the trogoautoegocratic process, not from direct solar radiation, yet no terrestrial scientist has ever suspected this, with the single exception of a Chinese being named Choon Kil Tess.
- Not a single terrestrial scientist has distinguished between ’emanation’ and ‘radiation’ — two entirely different cosmic processes that Mullah Nasr Eddin compared as alike as Shakespeare’s beard and French armagnac.
- Terrestrial beings with normal three-brained presence and education based on the commandments of the Uni-Being Himself would find the terrestrial conviction about solar heat and light a cause of ‘irrepressible inner laughter.’
- The common-cosmic trogoautoegocratic process — the ’exchange of substances’ or ‘reciprocal feeding’ of everything existing — was established by the Endless Creator to prevent the merciless Heropass from having a maleficent effect on the Sun Absolute, and operates through the two fundamental laws: the sacred Heptaparaparshinokh and the sacred Triamazikamno.
- All phenomena in the Universe without exception exist and are maintained solely on the basis of this trogoautoegocratic process, which requires all cosmic concentrations with their atmospheres to participate in the exchange of substances.
- Ethernokrilno is the primordial substance filling the whole Universe and serving as the basis for all arising and maintenance; Objective Science declares that everything in the Universe without exception is material.
- The Omnipresent Okidanokh — the only cosmic crystallization arising from all three holy sources of the sacred Theomertmalogos — participates unfailingly in the formation of all cosmic concentrations everywhere and is the principal cause of most cosmic phenomena, including atmospheric effects, through its two key particularities: ‘djartklom’ (dispersal into three primordial parts upon entering any cosmic unit) and the sacred Aieioiuoa (remorse, or separation into independent parts when touched by emanations of a sun).
- When Okidanokh enters a cosmic unit it immediately undergoes djartklom — dispersion into the Holy Affirming, Holy Denying, and Holy Reconciling forces — which exist independently within that unit for as long as it exists, only reblending when the unit is completely destroyed.
- The sacred Aieioiuoa process causes Okidanokh, when directly touched by solar emanation, to temporarily separate into its three independent parts — explaining why solar influence produces distinctive atmospheric effects rather than simply transmitting light and heat.
- Three-brained beings have three independent brain-localizations corresponding to the three holy forces of Triamazikamno, and by consciously fulfilling being-partkdolgduty they can utilize the three forces liberated by djartklom to bring their presence to the ‘sekronoolantsaknian’ state — becoming Individuals with their own sacred law of Triamazikamno and the possibility of consciously coating the ‘All-Holy’ that actualizes objective Reason.
- In terrestrial beings, the third being-brain (corresponding to the Holy Reconciling force) has been fragmented by Great Nature into separate nerve nodes distributed throughout the planetary body, with the greatest concentration in the chest region they call the ‘solar plexus.’
- Because terrestrial beings have entirely ceased to fulfill being-partkdolgduty due to abnormal existence conditions, almost none of the Holy Affirming and Holy Reconciling forces are transubstantiated for their own presence — only the Holy Denying crystallization serves for coating their own being, leaving most with only a planetary body, destroyed forever.

The arch-preposterous
Beelzebub begins recounting his visit to Gornahoor Harharkh on Saturn, whose invention the ‘khrkhakharkhtsakha’ demonstrated the properties of the Omnipresent Okidanokh experimentally — specifically what occurs when one of the three active parts is intentionally excluded from the process of striving to reblend, producing the ’non-law-conformable’ phenomenon terrestrial beings call ‘artificial light.’
- Gornahoor Harharkh, the foremost scientist among three-brained beings of the whole Universe at the time of Beelzebub’s first acquaintance, became Beelzebub’s essence-friend through the sacred process ‘vznooshlitzval’ — the implanting of ’trusting another as oneself’ — which had been performed in Harharkh’s presence by Beelzebub’s essence-friends before his exile.
- The kharakhrakhrookhry — sole planetary chief of Saturn, equivalent to an Earth ‘king’ except that on Earth each accidentally separated group has its own king — introduced Beelzebub to Harharkh and arranged the demonstration.
- Harharkh’s inventions were already being used by learned beings on various other planets; most notably, it was entirely due to his knowledge that Beelzebub was able to install the teskooano in his Mars observatory that enhanced sight by 7,000,285 times.
- The khrkhakharkhtsakha — a large glass-walled chamber made of material impervious to all rays from both directions — contained an absolute vacuum produced by a special complex suction pump, enabling experiments impossible under normal atmospheric conditions, with supplementary ‘khrikhirkhi’ (dynamos) for collecting, reblending, and then separating the three parts of Okidanokh for individual study.
- The walls of the apparatus were made of a special transparent material through which the organ of sight could perceive everything but which permitted no rays of any source to penetrate in either direction.
- The apparatus first sucked in separately all three independent parts of Okidanokh from the atmosphere or from intraplanetary/surplanetary formations, artificially reblended them in one khrikhirkhi, then subjected the reblended Okidanokh to djartklom in a second khrikhirkhi, concentrating each part separately in accumulators.
- When Gornahoor Harharkh intentionally excluded the third part of Okidanokh (‘parijrahatnatius’) from the process of striving to reblend in the vacuum, only the two remaining parts (‘anodnatius’ and ‘cathodnatius’) interacted — producing not the law-conformable result of their proper three-part blending but the ’non-law-conformable’ phenomenon beings call artificial light, at a force of 3,040,000 volts.
- Under normal conditions, the salnichitsinooarnian momentum-vibrations (‘rays’) from this process do not issue from the place of their arising; only by making one section of the wall from a ray-permeable material could outside observers evaluate the force of the process.
- This demonstration began to prove that ordinary beings can only perceive abnormal results of Okidanokh processes — those occurring abnormally due to external causes — never the normal results of the law-conformable three-part blending.

The cause of the genesis of the Moon
Beelzebub recounts how the comet Kondoor collided with the not-yet-fully-formed Earth due to a Sacred Individual’s calculation error, breaking off two large fragments (later called Moon and Anulios) that were prevented from falling back by the law of ‘catching up,’ and how the Most High Commission resolved this by actualizing the ilnosoparnian process on Earth so it could send the sacred substance askokin to maintain its fragments.
- The Moon’s genesis was an accident of cosmic mismanagement: a Sacred Individual dealing with world-creation made an erroneous calculation causing the comet Kondoor and the newly formed Earth to arrive at the same point of their crossing trajectories simultaneously, producing a violent collision that broke off two large fragments — a catastrophe that would not have occurred had Earth’s atmosphere been fully formed to serve as buffer.
- The two fragments — the larger named Loonderperzo (later Moon) and the smaller Anulios — lost their impact momentum before escaping Earth’s sphere of influence and then fell under the ’law of catching up,’ obliging them to make regular elliptical orbits rather than falling back onto or flying away from Earth.
- The beings of the continent Atlantis still knew of the second fragment Anulios and called it ‘Kimespai’ meaning ’never allowing one to sleep in peace’; contemporary beings have entirely forgotten its existence.
- To prevent the detached fragments from eventually straying and causing universal catastrophe, the Most High Commission under Archangel Sakaki obtained sanction from His Endlessness to actualize the ilnosoparnian process on Earth — causing the two fundamental sacred laws to function independently on Earth’s surface — which enabled the constant production and transmission of the sacred substance askokin required to maintain the Moon’s existence.
- The sacred substance askokin can only be formed on planets where the sacred Heptaparaparshinokh and Triamazikamno act in the ilnosoparnian manner — deflected and manifesting independently on the planet’s surface.
- As a consequence of the ilnosoparnian process, ‘similitudes of the Whole’ (microcosmoses) began appearing on Earth, forming oduristolnian and polormedekhtic vegetation, and eventually grouping into tetartocosmoses of all three-brain systems — including, for the first time, the biped three-brained beings that interest Hassein.

Why “men” are not men
Beelzebub explains that the second Most High Commission, fearing terrestrial three-brained beings might prematurely understand their cosmic role as askokin-producers for the Moon and collectively refuse this existence, provisionally implanted the organ kundabuffer at the base of their spinal column to make them perceive reality upside-down and experience every repeated impression as pleasure — with consequences that persisted even after kundabuffer’s removal.
- The organ kundabuffer was implanted not through malice but as a provisional cosmic precaution: the Most High Commission feared that three-brained beings, upon gaining mechanical instinct and eventually comprehending that they existed solely to produce askokin for the Moon fragments, would revolt and collectively destroy themselves rather than continue this slavery.
- The kundabuffer was designed with two key properties: making beings perceive reality inverted (‘upside down’), and causing every repeated external impression to crystallize data engendering sensations of pleasure and enjoyment.
- The organ was grown at the base of the spinal column at the root of the tail — at the time, three-brained beings still had tails — by the Universal Arch-Chemist-Physicist, the Angel Looisos.
- A third Most High Commission under the Most Great Arch-Seraph Sevohtaftra verified three years later (objective time) that precautionary measures for maintaining the Moon’s existence were no longer necessary, and Angel Looisos destroyed the organ kundabuffer — but the consequences of its properties had by then already begun crystallizing in beings’ presences and continued passing by heredity from generation to generation.
- Although kundabuffer itself was destroyed, its consequences — particularly the inversion of reality-perception and the compulsive seeking of pleasure-sensations — became independently fixed and heritable features of the terrestrial three-brained beings’ common presence.

A piquant trait of the peculiar psyche of man
Beelzebub uses the story of the Earth-dwelling raven-beings of Saturn — whose hearts are like those of angels and who exist strictly according to the ninth commandment, ‘Consider everything belonging to another as if it were your own’ — as a foil to introduce his real essence-friend Harharkh and transition to a more detailed treatment of the terrestrial psyche.
- Among all the planets Beelzebub visited in the solar system Ors, he found the three-brained beings of Saturn — externally resembling ravens — to be the most admirable in their quality of mutual relations, existing strictly by the ninth commandment of the Creator and speaking in a manner comparable to excellent singers performing in a minor key.
- Raven-type beings are found not only on almost all planets of the solar system Ors but on most planets of the Great Universe where beings of various brain systems arise — suggesting this exterior form has a special cosmic significance.
- Beelzebub’s real friend during the entire period of his exile, the being Harharkh, had the exterior coating of a raven and existed on Saturn — providing the personal connection behind the subsequent experimental descriptions.

Beelzebub’s tale about his second descent to the planet Earth
Beelzebub descends to Earth for the second time at the request of the Archangel Looisos to address the dangerous surplus of ‘askokin’ produced by rampant sacrificial offerings, befriending a priest named Abdil whose conscience-driven sermons against the practice eventually lead to his murder by the threatened priestly establishment.
- The second catastrophe to Earth—the sinking of Atlantis—resulted not from external cosmic collision but from the delayed shift of the planet’s center of gravity following the first catastrophe, which had left Earth in an unstable orbital condition for centuries until the center finally relocated, causing the cataclysm.
- The Archangel Looisos explained that after two fragments (Moon and Anulios) were detached in the first disaster, the center of gravity had no time to shift properly, causing repeated upheavals until it finally settled, producing the second catastrophe.
- From that point forward, Earth and its two satellite fragments—Moon and Anulios—acquired normal movement and became independent ‘kofenshars’ or small additional planets of the solar system Ors.
- The real reason for Beelzebub’s second descent was a cosmic emergency: human sacrificial offerings were producing an excess of the sacred substance ‘askokin,’ threatening to disrupt the Moon’s atmospheric formation and potentially trigger another large-scale cosmic catastrophe.
- Askokin is the sacred substance required for the maintenance of the Moon, arising during the death-process (rascooarno) of beings; an oversupply was distorting the correct exchange of substances between the Moon and its atmosphere.
- The Archangel Looisos asked Beelzebub to use his knowledge of human psychology and his habit of visiting the planets to persuade humans to abandon sacrificial offerings without requiring an extreme sacred intervention.
- Beelzebub chose to work through the priest Abdil because Abdil was one of the rare humans in whom the function of ‘conscience’ had not yet been completely atrophied, making him genuinely receptive to cosmic moral arguments rather than merely conventional religious reasoning.
- Beelzebub identified Abdil’s residual conscience through careful observation in the kaltaani (taverns/meeting places), which he regarded as the best sites for observing the specific psychic peculiarities of beings in any given country.
- Once Abdil recognized the cosmic truths Beelzebub explained, he became compassionate toward other beings in a way proper to normal three-brained beings throughout the universe—not merely following custom.
- If any one of them should become aware that in destroying the existence of another being he is not only committing an evil deed against the true God and every real saint, but is even causing them, in their essence, sorrow and grief that there should exist in the Great Universe such monsters made ‘in the image of God,’ who can manifest themselves so ruthlessly and without conscience toward other creatures of our Common Father—I repeat, if any one of them should become aware of this, he would certainly agree with all his heart never again to destroy the existence of beings of other forms for sacrificial offerings.
- Beelzebub’s core argument against sacrificial offerings was that all life-forms were created equally by the Common Creator for specific cosmic purposes, and destroying them supposedly in God’s honor is analogous to a vandal destroying someone’s cherished possessions while claiming to honor them.
- Each being—whether ox, lion, fish, or human—is fitted by Nature with organs suited to its sphere of existence and contributes a necessary part to the universal ‘reciprocal feeding of everything existing’; none is intrinsically ‘unclean.’
- The division of animals into ‘clean’ and ‘unclean’ reflected only human power dynamics: animals strong enough to resist humans were called ‘unclean,’ while weak, submissive animals like sheep were called ‘clean’ and sacrificed.
- Abdil’s sermon against sacrificial offerings at the Zadik festival produced an immediate popular sensation but ultimately led to his murder, orchestrated by the priesthood whose income and authority depended on continuation of the practice.
- Abdil’s colleagues spread slanders, bribed beings with ‘hasnamussian’ properties to persecute him, attempted to poison his food offerings, and eventually convened an ecclesiastical high court that expelled him from the priesthood.
- The wider populace, who had nearly worshipped Abdil the day before, turned against him under the influence of constant priestly gossip—illustrating the ease with which mass opinion in humans is reversed by sustained social pressure.
- Beelzebub transported Abdil’s murdered body to Mars for burial rather than leaving it on Earth, where enemies would have desecrated it—the first and last grave of an Earth-being on Mars—and the act was later honored by the Archangel Setrenotsinarco.
- Beelzebub’s grief at Abdil’s death was so profound that the connections between his own being-centers nearly shattered—a ‘skinikoonartsino’—revealing the depth of genuine cross-species affection that can exist between beings of different cosmic origins.
- Despite Abdil’s death, his preaching had already measurably reduced sacrificial slaughtering in Tikliamish, achieving Beelzebub’s cosmic mission even at the cost of his friend’s life.

The third flight of Beelzebub to the planet Earth
On his third descent, Beelzebub visits the second and third groups of beings on the continent of Ashhark—Maralpleicie and Pearl-land—and in each case uses an invented addition to their existing religion to eliminate sacrificial offerings, exploiting the humans’ readiness to believe without critical examination.
- The second Asiatic group in Maralpleicie descended from Atlantean hunters who settled near the Sea of Beneficence, and their culture was shaped by the survivor of the Akhldann Society who married into the community and became its founding leader.
- A learned member of the Society of Akhldanns had been stationed near the Sea of Beneficence for scientific observations when the catastrophe destroyed Atlantis, leaving him stranded; he married a hunter’s daughter named Rimala and became the community’s chief.
- Centuries later, King Koniutsion of Maralpleicie invented an elaborate religion—including Paradise and Hell, angelic surveillance, and divine reward—to cure his subjects’ addiction to chewing gulgulian (poppy) seeds, which had caused widespread social breakdown.
- Beelzebub countered the custom of sacrificial offerings in Maralpleicie by adding to Koniutsion’s religion the idea that the invisible spirits watching humanity for God were none other than beings of other animal forms—making harming animals not just cruel but dangerously impious.
- Working through a chaikhana-owner who became an ardent convert, Beelzebub’s invention spread rapidly through the commercial and social networks of the city of Gob and then outward through all of Maralpleicie.
- The practical results were farcical but effective: citizens pulled riders off donkeys to bow before them, released yoked oxen ceremonially, placed food troughs in public squares for stray animals, and threw offerings into the sea for fish at sunrise.
- The third Asiatic group in Pearl-land (India) descended from Atlantean pearl-divers who settled there after discovering rich pearl-bearing waters, and their dominant religion was based on the teachings of Saint Buddha, though already heavily distorted by ‘wiseacring.’
- Saint Buddha had been sent as a genuine Messenger from Above, coated in a human planetary body, to help humans overcome the crystallized consequences of the organ kundabuffer; his actual teachings emphasized intentional suffering in social conditions, not withdrawal into solitude.
- Within two or three generations, followers distorted ‘intentional suffering through enduring others’ displeasing manifestations’ into ascetic withdrawal in monasteries, inverting the social context Buddha had specifically required.
- Beelzebub exploited the already-distorted Buddhist notion that ‘Holy Prana’ exists in all beings at birth—a misreading of Buddha’s actual teaching that Prana must be consciously cultivated—to persuade Pearl-landers that animals and humans share the same sacred essence.
- Buddha had actually taught that Prana must be crystallized through conscious effort and then perfected to the degree of divine Reason; his successors reduced this to the comforting but false idea that every being automatically possesses a particle of the Most Great Greatness.
- Beelzebub admitted he falsely attributed his invented addition to Buddha’s own words, and felt regret at doing so—yet judged the cosmic necessity of eliminating sacrificial offerings sufficient justification.
- The term ‘kundalina,’ used in contemporary Hindu philosophy, is a linguistic corruption of ‘kundabuffer’—the actual organ once implanted in human ancestors—with the original meaning lost through generations of wiseacring about the word’s components.
- Buddha had explained that while the organ kundabuffer’s harmful properties had been removed, its material formation remained at the base of the spinal column and would dissolve naturally with proper being-existence over time.
- Subsequent generations modified the name to ‘kundalina’ based on a false etymological reasoning—replacing ‘buffer’ with ’lina’ (meaning ‘former’)—and modern ‘occultism,’ ’theosophy,’ and similar teachings have built elaborate systems on this corrupted half-word with no understanding of its origin.

Beelzebub in Tibet for the first time
Beelzebub’s overland route from Pearl-land through Tibet exposes him to the extreme self-mortification practiced by the Orthodoxhaidooraki sect—a Buddhist splinter group that immures its members alive in sealed cells until death—illustrating how genuine sacred teachings become grotesquely distorted by subsequent generations.
- The Self-Tamers sect arose from a distorted interpretation of Buddha’s counsel on intentional suffering, leading members to seek total isolation in Tibet where they could practice their invented form of ’endurance’ without interference from ordinary society.
- The sect split into two groups—Orthodoxhaidooraki (who maintained their original vows) and Katoshkihaidooraki (who modified them under pressure from their wives)—after the wives discovered that the ‘crowning act’ of the sect’s doctrine meant being walled up alive.
- The Orthodoxhaidooraki monastery consisted of small cells sealed into the perimeter wall, each with only a tiny opening through which a piece of bread and a jug of water were passed daily; residents remained until they died.
- Tibet’s abnormal geological growth—its mountains rising far higher than any other range over just a few centuries—represented for Beelzebub a potential future cosmic catastrophe, because the disproportionate atmospheric projections caused by these heights interfere with the harmonious movement of Earth in relation to other planets.
- During Beelzebub’s sixth and final visit to Earth, he observed that the Tibetan peaks had grown to become the highest on the planet—far exceeding what he had seen earlier—and calculated that continued growth would eventually cause the Earth’s atmosphere to ‘hook’ onto other planetary atmospheres, generating earthquakes.
- An etherogram from Ahoon confirmed that the Archangel Looisos had been dispatched by the Holy Planet Purgatory, on command of the Most Endless, to investigate and address the abnormal growth—suggesting that higher cosmic authorities were monitoring the situation.

The fourth personal sojourn of Beelzebub on the planet Earth
Beelzebub’s fourth descent, motivated by Gornahoor Harharkh’s curiosity about apes, leads him to Egypt where he observes the architectural and astronomical achievements of Atlantean descendants, reflects on the distortion of the ancient astrologer’s role, and delivers a lengthy cosmological explanation of the true origin of ape-beings as the result of abnormal sexual unions during the post-Atlantis catastrophe period.
- The ape-beings of Earth did not descend from humans, nor did humans descend from apes; rather, apes are ‘misconceived’ beings that arose when women survivors of the post-Atlantis catastrophe, isolated from men for years and already habituated to removing the sacred substance exioëhary for pleasure alone, formed sexual partnerships with quadruped beings.
- The abnormal blending of human female exioëhary (carrying the ‘holy denying’ force of Triamazikamno) with quadruped male exioëhary (carrying the ‘holy affirming’ force) was made cosmically possible by the rare law of ‘affinity of the numbers of the totality of vibrations,’ temporarily activated by the second transapalnian perturbation.
- Each different species of ape resembles a specific quadruped in its outer form and automatic postures, while sharing identical psychic features with human women—the two sources of the blended exioëhary that produced each species.
- The repeated human debate about whether humans descended from apes or apes from humans—exemplified by Menitkel on the continent of Atlantis and Darwin in Europe—represents a periodic crystallization of a ‘crescendo impulse’ in human psychology, not genuine scientific inquiry, and both theories are cosmologically false.
- Menitkel, a financially comfortable dilettante whose aunt was a matchmaker for powerful people, ‘proved’ that apes were degenerated humans; Darwin, two millennia later, ‘proved’ the reverse—both using the same style of logic that produces results depending on social convenience rather than cosmic reality.
- Menitkel’s theory introduced into human instincts a ‘dictatorial factor’ generating a false feeling of the sacredness of apes, which passed by heredity for generations; Darwin’s theory is now producing analogous effects among contemporary humans.
- The ancient Egyptian observatory at Avazlin (near Cairo) was built on a principle descending from the Akhldann Society: placing telescopes deep underground and observing cosmic concentrations through converging shafts, compensating for humans’ degraded ‘koritesnokhnian’ sight by eliminating atmospheric interference.
- Human sight had originally been ‘olooestesnokhnian,’ capable of perceiving distant cosmic concentrations at any time; after the organ kundabuffer’s consequences became crystallized, Great Nature was compelled to degrade human sight to the ‘koritesnokhnian’ level—capable of perception only during the night-time process of Aieioiuoa in the atmosphere.
- The five-shaft underground observatory design solved the night-limitation problem by using the planet itself as a shield against atmospheric light scatter, enabling observation of remote cosmic concentrations at any hour.
- These immured favorites of yours did indeed remain in those monstrous sepulchers until their motionless and half-starved existence, so full of deprivation, came to an end.
- The ancient astrologers of Egypt performed a comprehensive social function—guiding conception timing, drawing up birth horoscopes, selecting compatible conjugal partners by type, and advising on body positioning and behavior throughout life—a function entirely lost when ‘wiseacring’ reduced astronomy to merely naming and measuring distant stars.
- Because ancient astrologers matched couples according to cosmic type-compatibility derived from planetary influence at conception, conjugal pairs of that era nearly always corresponded—contrasting sharply with the modern norm where mismatched couples spend their inner lives in constant mutual nagging.
- Contemporary ‘astronomers,’ wearing German spectacles and English smocks, contribute nothing to human welfare—but at least, Beelzebub notes wryly, they are kept too busy to engage in the solitary vice that radiates harmful vibrations to those around them.
- The learned Society of Akhldanns, founded on Atlantis 735 years before the second catastrophe by Belcultassi, arose from a single individual’s sincere self-observation: recognizing that his external manifestations did not correspond to his inner perceptions, and methodically verifying whether others experienced the same disconnect.
- Belcultassi first developed the capacity to overcome self-love, pride, and vanity within himself, then conducted discreet comparative inquiries among friends and acquaintances, discovering universal agreement that their functioning did not proceed as sane logic dictated it should.
- The society divided into seven specialized sections—Fokhsovors (geology), Strassovors (planetary radiations), Metrosovors (mathematics), Psychosovors (psychology), Harnosovors (chemistry/physics), Mistessovors (epistemology), and Gezpoodjnisovors (cosmic influences on being)—the first instance of objective science on Earth.
- The Sphinx erected at the Egyptian observatory was a direct descendant of the Akhldann Society’s emblem ‘Conscience’—an allegorical figure whose body of a bull, legs of a lion, wings of an eagle, and virgin’s breasts in place of a head encoded a complete practical philosophy of being-labor.
- Bull trunk = indefatigable labor is required for regeneration; lion legs = labor must be performed with courage and faith in one’s own might; eagle wings = during labor one must meditate unceasingly on questions beyond immediate necessity; virgin’s breasts as head = love must predominate in all inner and outer functioning.
- The amber connecting the breasts to the body symbolized that love must be strictly impartial—separated from all other psychological functions—because amber is one of seven planetary formations in which all three sacred parts of Okidanokh participate in equal proportions.

The first visit of Beelzebub to India
Beelzebub visits Pearl-land’s capital Kaiamon and discovers that the Buddhist religion there has been fundamentally distorted by successors who replaced Buddha’s call for conscious intentional suffering in social conditions with institutionalized monastic withdrawal, producing the ‘Self-Tamers’ sect and eventually the grotesque practice of living immurement in Tibet.
- Saint Buddha was a genuine Messenger from Above, sent specifically because ‘hasnamussian’ beings in Pearl-land had crystallized factors that seriously hindered the cosmic exchange of substances required by the Trogoautoegocrat; his mission was to teach conscious methods of dissolving the inherited consequences of the organ kundabuffer.
- Buddha understood that Earth humans’ Reason had become ‘instincto-titillarian’—functioning only under external shocks—yet still chose to work through their Reason, explaining in precise terms how the ‘holy affirming’ force needed for self-perfection could be generated through intentional endurance of others’ displeasing manifestations.
- Buddha’s actual explanation of kundabuffer’s implantation and removal was precise: the organ had grown at the lower extremity of the spinal brain (sacral region) through Angel Looisos’s special means, its harmful properties were removed from ancestors, but a material residue and hereditary predisposition remained.
- The single most consequential distortion of Buddha’s teaching was the reinterpretation of ‘intentional suffering through enduring others’ displeasing manifestations’ as requiring solitude—a change that made the practice cosmically useless, since the ’trentroodianos’ (chemico-physical results) Buddha sought could only arise through actual social friction.
- Buddha had specified intentional suffering within social conditions because only repeated genuine encounters with others’ displeasing behavior could generate, through the sacred Triamazikamno, the ‘holy affirming’ force needed to counteract the ‘denying’ properties already crystallized in a being’s presence.
- The resulting monastic tradition—beings withdrawing from society to seek suffering in isolation—became established worldwide and persists to the present day under names like ‘saving one’s soul,’ representing a complete inversion of Buddha’s actual therapeutic prescription.
- Contemporary occultism, theosophy, spiritualism, and psychoanalysis are all downstream consequences of the failure to preserve Buddha’s original teachings—each represents a further layer of ‘obscuring’ a psyche already obscured enough by the crystallized consequences of kundabuffer.
- Of the truths indicated by Saint Buddha, absolutely nothing authentic survived to the present; only half of one word—‘kundalina’ derived from ‘kundabuffer’—reached contemporary beings, and around that corrupted fragment entire philosophical systems have been constructed.
- “The ‘intentional suffering and conscious labor specially actualized’ by Buddha have ’ever since hovered in vain over this planet, without producing any of the real results that could have been lawfully expected.’” —Beelzebub

Beelzebub’s fifth flight to the planet Earth
Beelzebub’s fifth visit to Earth is prompted by his observation that the lifespan of humans is shortening at a definite and uniform rate, and his investigations in the flourishing city of Babylon expose the catastrophic intellectual and spiritual chaos that would ultimately destroy the last remnants of Ashiata Shiemash’s beneficent work.
- Between his fourth and fifth visits, Beelzebub observes through his teskooano that the lifespan of humans is shortening century by century from as long as twelve to fifteen centuries down to seventy to ninety years, prompting him to investigate this phenomenon in person.
- At the time of his departure from the solar system, maximum human lifespan had decreased to seventy to ninety years, and anyone living over a century would be exhibited in museums.
- The cause was not only periodic reciprocal destruction but also innumerable diseases arising from abnormal conditions of being-existence established by humans themselves.
- A third local catastrophe caused by atmospheric disturbances linked to the Moon’s gravitational influence destroyed the centers of culture of Tikliamish and Maralpleicie, scattering their populations across Asia and into Europe in what contemporary scholars mistakenly label the ‘great migration of races.’
- Beings from Tikliamish moved to Persia and northward to Kirghizcheri; beings from Maralpleicie went east to China and west into Europe.
- The Sahara desert was once the most flourishing center of culture after the loss of Atlantis but was buried under sand by these same winds.
- Babylon at the time of Beelzebub’s fifth visit was the planetary center of culture, but it was gripped by a mass intellectual and spiritual crisis over the question of whether human beings possess a ‘soul,’ with all of learned civilization divided between atheistic and dualistic theories that were equally convincing and equally vacuous.
- The Persian king had assembled learned beings from across the planet by force, seeking alchemists who knew the secret of turning base metal into gold, a notion originating with the hasnamuss individual Kharnakhoom of Tikliamishian civilization.
- When the king’s craze shifted from alchemy to the process of destruction itself, the assembled scholars were left free in Babylon and turned to debating the soul question, which spread to all ordinary inhabitants including butchers.
- All the dualistic theories maintained the existence of the ‘soul,’ and of course its ‘immortality,’ as well as every conceivable ’tribulation’ it might suffer after the death of the being, man. And all the atheistic theories maintained just the opposite.
- The Babylonian learned being Hamolinadir delivered a speech on the ‘instability of human Reason’ demonstrating that human reason can be convinced of absolutely anything, including that the entire world is nothing but a corn on one’s left foot, and afterward abandoned scholarship entirely to grow maize.
- Hamolinadir argued that all one needs to convince a man’s reason is to know which shocks and associations to arouse in the various brains while proving the ’truth.’
- He described the Babylonian intellectual situation as the building of a tower of bricks made of iron, wood, dough, and eiderdown — certain to collapse and crush everyone.
- The ‘Tower of Babel’ as understood by contemporary humans is a distortion of Hamolinadir’s metaphorical warning that the collective intellectual chaos in Babylon — building a tower of contradictory theories to reach Heaven — would collapse and crush everyone; only a fragment of the original idea survived through generations.
- Contemporary humans picture an actual tower being built so beings could ascend bodily to God, and believe a confusion of tongues miraculously occurred — neither of which is what happened.
- This example illustrates how no exact information about real past events ever reaches later generations, and fragmentary expressions become the basis for entire fantasy theories.
- The two dominant Babylonian theories about the soul — the dualistic (soul and body with angel/devil accounting) and the atheistic (all is mechanical law, no soul) — both passed into later generations and increasingly confused human mentation, but the greater evil was their dissemination by returning learned beings who acted like contagious bacilli destroying the remnants of Ashiata Shiemash’s work.
- The dualistic theory described God with scales weighing angel and devil notebooks, Paradise as fragrant beauty, and Hell as a hot torturesome desert — satisfying only unworthy being-needs.
- The atheistic theory held that all is mechanical cause-and-effect transformation, and Reason is merely the sum of accumulated impressions enabling comparisons and deductions.
- The two understandings of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ on Earth — one based on Objective Conscience (’every deed is good if done according to conscience, bad if it produces remorse’) and one based on ‘morality’ invented after King Koniutsion — are fundamentally incompatible, and contemporary morality functions like a chameleon, automatically determined by ‘mother-in-law, digestion, John Thomas, and cash.’
- Conscience-based good and bad originated with beings like the learned Society of Akhldanns and genuine initiates; morality originated as a social invention and has no stable content.

The Very Saintly Ashiata Shiemash sent from Above to the Earth
Ashiata Shiemash, a Sacred Individual actualized seven centuries before the Babylonian events, was the only Messenger from Above who succeeded in creating conditions for genuinely improved being-existence on Earth, uniquely refusing to use Faith, Hope, or Love as his instruments because those sacred impulses had already degenerated in humans, and instead working through the one faculty still intact in the subconscious: Objective Conscience.
- Ashiata Shiemash was the only Messenger from Above who succeeded in creating conditions resembling normal three-brained being-existence on Earth, because unlike all predecessors he refused to teach or preach to ordinary beings and instead worked through initiates and the brotherhood system.
- His conception was actualized in the planetary body of a boy of poor Sumerian family in the village of Pispascana near Babylon, where he grew up and reached responsible age.
- No teachings in any form passed from his contemporaries even to the third generation; information survived only through initiates via the legomonism ‘The Terror of the Situation’ and an intact marble tablet.
- A legomonism is the means devised by the beings of Atlantis for transmitting accurate information about real past events from generation to generation through genuine initiates — as opposed to ordinary transmission which either disappears or becomes unrecognizable fantasy.
- Genuine initiates are those who acquire objective data through conscious labor and intentional suffering that can be sensed and trusted by other beings of any brain-system.
- In recent centuries the word ‘initiate’ has acquired a second fraudulent meaning: members of ‘robber gangs’ who steal ’essence-values’ under the pretense of occult science, with ‘great initiates’ among them being those who have gone through fire, water, copper pipes, and all the roulette halls of Monte Carlo.
- The Olbogmek Brotherhood, whose name means ‘There are no different religions, there is only one God,’ preserves to the present day the marble tablet of Ashiata Shiemash’s counsels as their most precious sacred relic, located in the middle of the continent of Asia.
- Many such tablets were set up in large towns during Ashiata Shiemash’s activity but were subsequently destroyed by wars; only this one survived intact.

The legomonism concerning the deliberations of the Very Saintly Ashiata Shiemash under the title of “The Terror of the Situation”
The legomonism records Ashiata Shiemash’s extended process of self-preparation and analysis, culminating in his discovery that Faith, Hope, and Love had degenerated beyond recovery in human beings but that Objective Conscience remained intact in the subconscious, and that only by restoring its participation in ordinary waking consciousness could humanity be saved from the crystallized consequences of the organ kundabuffer.
- Ashiata Shiemash undertook an extraordinary process of self-preparation on Mount Veziniama — forty days of concentrated kneeling, forty days of fasting and recalling all past impressions, and forty more days of kneeling and plucking hairs from his breast every half hour — in order to reach the state of ‘ksherknara’ or ‘all-brains-balanced being-perceptiveness’ before choosing his method of action.
- Only when completely free from all associations linked to ordinary life impressions did he begin to ponder what to do — and concluded that it was too late to save contemporary beings by Faith, Hope, or Love.
- The sacred impulse of Faith had degenerated in humans into a susceptibility to believe any nonsense when it activates their pre-existing crystallized properties of self-love, vanity, pride, swagger, and arrogance — making them easily convinced of falsehoods by anyone who knows how to trigger these weaknesses.
- Ashiata Shiemash identified that genuine Faith should function independently in three-brained beings, but in humans it arises only through consequences of the organ kundabuffer such as vanity and self-love.
- The sacred impulse of Love had degenerated such that ten people asked sincerely to describe it would give ten different answers — sexual desire, pity, submission, common interest — because genuine Love has long been absent from human experience and beings have no ’taste’ of it to reference.
- Contemporary love arises because someone flatters the person, or their nose resembles a beloved’s nose, or their uncle is in big business — never from genuine impartial non-egoistic love.
- The contemporary three-brained beings also at times believe, love, and hope both with their Reason and with their feelings; but how they believe, how they love, and how they hope — in this lies all the peculiarity of these three being-properties of theirs!
- The degeneration of Hope into a maleficent ‘hope’ is the worst of the three, because this abnormal hope constantly paralyzes all possibilities of genuine self-work — manifesting as the disease called ’tomorrow,’ which causes beings to put off indefinitely every necessary effort until old age renders it impossible.
- Even those who become aware with their whole presence of their complete nullity and learn exactly what efforts must be made still put things off ‘from tomorrow till tomorrow’ until feebleness and infirmity make all action futile.
- A strange phenomenon: toward the end of their existence many humans’ crystallized kundabuffer consequences atrophy of themselves, they begin to sense the need for real work — but it is already too late, the time allotted by Great Nature having passed.
- Ashiata Shiemash discovered that while Faith, Hope, and Love had degenerated, the factor for Objective Conscience had not atrophied but had sunk into the subconscious due to abnormal conditions of existence, where it remains intact and continues to be crystallized even in contemporary humans — as evidenced by the special coloring of Earth’s atmosphere from ‘remorse of conscience’ radiations.
- Because egoism and deceit became instilled from childhood (’education’), conscience was systematically driven from ordinary consciousness into the subconscious, where it escaped the degeneration that befell the other sacred impulses.
- From time to time a moral shock stills the associative noise of ordinary consciousness, allowing subconscious conscience to briefly surface as ‘remorse of conscience,’ producing atmospheric crystallizations that hindered Beelzebub’s telescopic observations from Mars.
- The marble tablet of Ashiata Shiemash states a precise three-part formula for Faith, Love, and Hope distinguishing consciousness, feeling, and body levels: ‘Faith of consciousness is freedom / Faith of feeling is weakness / Faith of body is stupidity’ — presenting a structural map of where genuine being-impulses operate versus their degenerated forms.
- Love of consciousness evokes the same in response; Love of feeling evokes the opposite; Love of body depends only on type and polarity.
- “Hope of consciousness is strength; Hope of feeling is slavery; Hope of body is disease.” —Ashiata Shiemash
- Ashiata Shiemash concluded that the only path of salvation for Earth’s beings was to create external conditions of existence in which Objective Conscience — still present and intact in the subconscious — would gradually transfer its functioning into ordinary waking consciousness, thereby restoring the possibility of genuine self-perfection.
- Sorrow is the unavoidable foundation of conscience for all three-brained beings, arising from the constant struggle between planetary body functioning and the progressive coating and perfecting of higher being-bodies.
- Only he who consciously assists ’non-desires’ to prevail over ‘desires’ behaves in accordance with the Being of the Common Father Creator; he who assists the contrary only increases His sorrow.

The order of existence created for men by the Very Saintly Ashiata Shiemash
Ashiata Shiemash created the Heeshtvori Brotherhood in Djoolfapal and spread its influence across Asia through a network of initiates and priests, with the result that within ten years the two chief maleficent forms of human existence — division into warring communities and into castes — disappeared of their own accord, and the process of reciprocal destruction nearly ceased on the continent of Asia.
- Ashiata Shiemash established the Tchaftantoori Brotherhood (‘To be — or not to be at all’) near Djoolfapal as his starting point, working with genuine initiates Poundoliro and Sensimiriniko, who had both recognized an ‘undesirable something’ functioning in themselves that could not be removed alone and sought others with the same aim.
- Both Poundoliro and Sensimiriniko had already coated their highest being-parts to the gradation of ‘completion’ and perfected them to the required gradation of Objective Reason; their highest being-parts now have their place of existence on the Holy Planet Purgatory.
- The Heeshtvori Brotherhood (‘Only he will be called and become the son of God who acquires in himself Conscience’) required each member seeking full standing to convince one hundred other beings of the existence of Objective Conscience and how to manifest it — and each of those hundred must in turn convince one hundred more, creating a geometrically expanding network of genuine conscience-transmission.
- The word ‘priest’ was first given to those who became worthy ‘all-rights-possessing brethren’ of the Heeshtvori Brotherhood, later being debased into the designation of mere professional clergymen.
- Within about three years, the truth that Objective Conscience exists in the subconscious and can enter waking consciousness had spread across the continent of Asia, and beings began actively striving to manifest conscience in every aspect of ordinary existence — with the result that within ten years both separate warring communities and caste distinctions disappeared of themselves.
- Masters voluntarily gave their slaves freedom; power-possessing beings relinquished unmerited rights, having realized through conscience that they held them only to satisfy personal weaknesses like vanity and self-love.
- Chiefs and directors arose not by hereditary right or election but automatically through objectively sensed personal merits acquired by conscious labor — what is called ’essence-power’ — with their guidance followed with devotion rather than enforced by bayonets.
- Within ten terrestrial years there had disappeared of their own accord the two chief forms of abnormally established ordinary being-existence there, from which flowed and continue to flow most of the maleficent causes that increasingly prevent the establishment of conditions for at least a normal outer being-existence for your unfortunate favorites.
- The property of ’egoism,’ unique to Earth’s three-brained beings in the entire Universe, crystallized when the dual psyche (split between abnormal waking consciousness and the subconscious) made personal welfare the exclusive aim of existence, generating the secondary maleficent properties of cunning, envy, hate, hypocrisy, contempt, haughtiness, servility, slyness, ambition, and duplicity.
- The dual psyche arose because individual initiatives simultaneously issue from the accidentally formed ‘consciousness’ (result of abnormal external impressions) and from the normal ‘subconscious,’ creating two independent personalities in one being.
- Duality was also the reason ‘sincerity’ was lost — and the practice then took root of intentionally suppressing sincerity through ’education,’ teaching children deceit from birth through manuals compiled by candidate hasnamusses.
- The five being-obligolnian strivings that all three-brained beings must transubstantiate — covering planetary body needs, constant striving for perfection of Being, knowing cosmic laws, paying for one’s arising and individuality, and assisting the perfecting of other beings — were actualized by Earth’s beings during the Ashiatan epoch for the first time in their history.
- The most significant cosmic result was that both birth rate and death rate declined simultaneously — demonstrating the law of equilibration of vibrations, as Nature required fewer vibrational emissions from the destruction of existence when beings radiated more normally.
- Contemporary humans use special means — alcoholism, cocainism, morphinism, nicotinism, onanism, monkism, ‘Athenianism’ — specifically to ‘squash’ the first stirrings of remorse of conscience before it can fully form, because in abnormally established conditions of existence it has become impossible to live with genuine Objective Conscience active in ordinary consciousness.
- As soon as beings sense even the slightest prick of arising conscience they immediately suppress it, whereupon this impulse not yet fully formed promptly subsides.

The chief culprit in the destruction of all the Very Saintly Labors of Ashiata Shiemash
The learned being Lentrohamsanin, motivated by vanity and self-love rather than genuine insight, composed a famous kashireitleer calling for the destruction of all existing order and the institution of universal democratic election — an invention that triggered civil war in Nievia, spread across Asia through the Babylonian learned beings, and ultimately destroyed the last remnants of Ashiata Shiemash’s work, making Lentrohamsanin an Eternal Hasnamuss Individual.
- Lentrohamsanin arose to wealthy but spiritually empty parents in Kronbookhon, capital of Nievia — his father a caravan merchant, his mother a former ’toosidji’ who ran a fraudulent holy place for childless women — and was lavishly educated with vast quantities of information but acquired absolutely no Being in relation to that information.
- He was the first-born after many abortions (’toosy’), as his parents had been too absorbed in acquiring riches to accept children; he was thus a late and over-indulged result of elderly parents.
- Being fully saturated with crystallized vanity, self-love, swagger, and presumptuousness, he resolved to become famous across the entire planet by inventing a theory on a subject nobody had previously touched.
- Lentrohamsanin’s kashireitleer — inscribed on an unprecedented surface of one hundred joined buffalo hides — argued that true happiness requires freedom from all dependence on others, that existing rulers had not proven their spiritual authority by miracles, and that governance should be by elected representatives chosen by universal, direct, equal, and open ballot from those who themselves labor for their bread.
- “The kashireitleer culminated in: ‘Down with dependence on others! We ourselves will be the masters of our own destiny… we must elect these governors only from those who themselves toil for their daily bread.’” —Lentrohamsanin
- The learned beings of Nievia assembled at Lentrohamsanin’s expensive banquet were so flabbergasted that the most renowned of them jumped on the table and proclaimed Lentrohamsanin a divinely sent Messiah.
- The reciprocal ‘praising to the skies’ that learned beings of new formation have always practiced prevents any true knowledge from evolving, and the desire among such beings to associate with a famous authority in order to appear important themselves drove the instant and unanimous endorsement of Lentrohamsanin’s ideas regardless of their actual merit.
- Within a year, the ideas of Lentrohamsanin divided Nievia into opposing parties, triggering civil war in Kronbookhon, and eventually a ‘horde of learned beings’ imposed his ideas on all of Nievia, establishing there a ‘republic.’
- The great-grandson of Lentrohamsanin brought a papyrus copy of the kashireitleer to Babylon, where at the height of the ‘soul debate’ the learned beings instantly shifted their attention to ‘politics’ and split into three sections — Legomonists, Neomothists, and Paleomothists — nearly causing civil war in Babylon itself until the Persian king cracked down and scattered them across the planet.
- The scattered Babylonian learned beings then mechanically propagated both the soul debate and Lentrohamsanin’s political ideas across Asia, reigniting wars and ultimately erasing all remaining results of Ashiata Shiemash’s labors.
- Alexander of Macedonia’s later campaigns made a final ‘clean sweep’ of even the memory that such bliss had once existed on Earth.
- A ‘hasnamuss’ is defined as any three-brained being in whose presence a specific ‘something’ arises — blending with the spectrum of naloo-onosnian impulses (depravity, leading others astray, urge to destroy, avoidance of necessary effort, concealment of defects, undeserved enjoyment, striving to be what one is not) — which corrupts not only themselves but radiates outward infecting surrounding beings.
- The four kinds of hasnamuss correspond to whether only the planetary body, the kesdjan body, the highest being-body (with possibility of cleansing), or the highest being-body (without any possibility of cleansing — Eternal Hasnamuss Individual) has been coated with the participation of this ‘something.’
- Of all the three-brained beings in the entire Universe, only 313 have so far reached the planet Retribution as Eternal Hasnamuss Individuals, two of whom arose on Earth — one being Lentrohamsanin.

Book II
The fruits of former civilizations and the blossoms of the contemporary
The Greek and Roman civilizations — originating from bored Asiatic fishermen and shepherds — bequeathed to all subsequent generations the twin catastrophes of ‘fantastic sciences’ (destroying logical mentation) and sexual depravity (destroying organic shame), and their contemporary heirs, Germany and England, are now spreading these same maleficent legacies in the form of harmful chemical inventions and the destructive practice of ‘sport.’
- The ancient Greeks originated as Asiatic fishermen (‘Hellenaki’) who during storms invented a game called ‘pouring from the empty into the void’ — formulating absurd questions and finding plausible answers — and whose descendants eventually called these exercises ‘science,’ inscribing them on fishskin parchment; this is the direct origin of Greek philosophy and approximately half of all contemporary human ‘world outlook.’
- The convention of inscribing long explanations began as swaggering before companions; the descendants inherited both the inscriptions and the craze, naming the whole enterprise ‘science.’
- The ancient Romans originated as Asiatic shepherds (‘Latinaki’) who during bad weather invented ‘cinque contra uno’ (five against one) as a pastime; when women joined and developed extraordinary refinements in it, the resulting culture of sexual depravity passed through Roman civilization into all subsequent generations, destroying the faculty of ‘instinctive shame’ proper to three-brained beings.
- Contemporary humans have retained something that resembles shame but is entirely ‘pseudo’ — arising only when they do something considered improper in front of others, but never when unobserved, regardless of how undesirable their own consciousness judges the act.
- Contemporary Germany has directly inherited the Greek passion for inventing fantastic sciences and has surpassed its ancestors by discovering actual cosmological details — fragments of common-cosmic processes — and then using these to invent new destructive means, so that the cumulative effect of their inventions now constitutes a ‘resultant decomposing force’ counterbalancing Nature’s creative force.
- Five particularly harmful German chemical inventions illustrate this: satkaine (a neutralizing gas repurposed as a weapon of mass destruction), aniline (a dye that destroys objects within thirty years rather than five to fifteen centuries), cocaine (producing the same effect as the organ kundabuffer), atropine (blinding users after age forty-five for the vanity of dark eyes), and alizarine (used by confectioners for deceptive appearance over nutritional value).
- The ‘blessings’ prepared by the ancient Romans have in recent times so permeated the nature of your favorites breeding on all the continents of that ill-fated planet that it is even difficult to say which contemporary community has inherited the most from these ‘obliging’ Romans.
- Contemporary England has inherited the Greek invention called ‘diapharon’ or ‘sport,’ and now actively disseminates it across all communities; sport shortens the already brief human lifespan by prematurely exhausting the ‘bobbinkandelnost’ of the moving center or spinal cord, as demonstrated by Beelzebub’s statistical finding that no professional wrestler in his records lived beyond forty-nine years.
- England’s power-possessing beings use sport to distract the population from social problems, just as Russia’s power-possessing beings used vodka — with more than two and a half million unemployed in England while authorities only spread sport further.
- England also supplies the planet with metalwares — padlocks, razors, machine guns, mines, cartridges — making the ‘first being-duty’ of reciprocal destruction ’the merest trifle’ compared to former times.
- The duration of human existence is now governed by the principle of ‘itoklanotz’ rather than the ‘fulasnitamnian’ principle applicable to normal three-brained beings, because humans ceased to actualize being-partkdolgduty; under itoklanotz, existence depends on ‘bobbinkandelnosts’ — fixed quantities of possible associations crystallized in each of the three brain-localizations from seven external factors at conception and formation.
- The seven factors governing bobbinkandelnost formation are: heredity, conditions at conception, planetary radiations during gestation, level of being-manifestation of parents, quality of surrounding beings’ existence, sincerely manifested good wishes of ‘beings of the same blood,’ and the being’s own being-egoplastikoori.
- Like a mechanical watch’s spring, each brain’s bobbinkandelnost can be used up disproportionately, causing ‘death by thirds’ — partial deaths that contemporary physicians misname as hemiplegia, paraplegia, tabes dorsalis, paralysis agitans, and so forth.
- The key to longer existence — the ‘iransamkeep’ or ’not giving oneself up to the associations of one brain alone’ — is a known principle analogous to the ‘regulator’ in mechanical watches, and certain contemporary beings who discovered and applied the law of harmonious association live two to four centuries, as Beelzebub personally met in a brotherhood in the middle of Asia composed of beings from almost all religions.
- The three bobbinkandelnosts correspond to thinking, feeling, and moving centers; when one is prematurely exhausted through imbalanced existence (e.g., excessive sport exhausting the moving center, excessive reading exhausting the thinking center), the others are dragged down with it.

Art
The contemporary concept of ‘art’ originated in Babylon when a small group of genuine initiates — led by the Chaldean sage Aksharpantziar — devised a method of encoding genuine knowledge in human ‘afalkalnas’ (handiworks) and ‘soldjinokhas’ (ceremonies) through deliberate lawful inexactitudes in the Law of Sevenfoldness, so it could survive wars and be deciphered by future beings; however, the key concept of transmitting knowledge ‘artificially’ through the Law of Sevenfoldness was separated from its understanding, and what reached later generations as ‘art’ became instead a primary mechanism for destroying the capacity for normal logical being-mentation.
- Beelzebub joined the ‘Club of the Adherents of Legomonism’ in Babylon — organized by the genuine initiates Kanil el-Norkel (a Moor) and Pythagoras (a Hellene) — which arose from their shared recognition that during wars and uprisings, genuine initiates are always among the first killed because their seriousness and quietness make them suspected as spies by the psychopathic masses.
- The club enrolled 139 members, all genuine initiates brought to Babylon by coercion, who had kept completely apart from the main body of Babylonian learned beings and their political and theological disputes.
- The Chaldean sage Aksharpantziar proposed that genuine knowledge be encoded in durable human handiworks (‘afalkalnas’) and established ceremonies (‘soldjinokhas’) through deliberate, lawful inexactitudes in the universal Law of Sevenfoldness — which he defined as the law that white light has seven colors, every sound has seven tones, every state has seven sensations, every form has seven dimensions, every mass rests through seven reciprocal thrusts.
- “Transmitters by initiates alone was insufficient because initiates die in wars; but the Law of Sevenfoldness will exist as long as the Universe and human thought exist, so knowledge encoded through it will also exist forever.” —Aksharpantziar
- A special ‘alphabet’ of conventional encoding was to be devised, and a legomonism transmitted by a new class of ‘initiates of art’ was to serve as the key for deciphering the inexactitudes.
- The 139 members organized seven days of the week each devoted to one branch of knowledge-transmission — religious and civil ceremonies (Monday), architecture (Tuesday), painting (Wednesday), religious and popular dances (Thursday), sculpture (Friday), mysteries and theater (Saturday), music and song (Sunday) — directly deriving this weekly structure from the Law of Sevenfoldness as the continent of Atlantis had originally encoded it.
- In the ‘day of ceremonies,’ knowledge was encoded in the lawfully mandated but intentionally ‘otherwise’ positioning of participants’ feet, hands, and body postures — where normal sevenfold law would demand one configuration, they substituted another, and the deviation carried the message.
- In architecture, knowledge was encoded through structural combinations that defied established custom while still maintaining stability through unusual applications of the same Law of Sevenfoldness — e.g., a cupola on three columns instead of four, with the missing support compensated through calculated weight-mass relationships.
- The painting group also utilized the law of ‘Deivibritzkar’ — the law of action of vibrations arising in the atmosphere of enclosed spaces — encoding knowledge through deliberately altered sequences of sensations evoked by interior architectural space, a law completely unknown to contemporary beings.
- In painting specifically, the organ of sight in Earth’s beings has gradually deteriorated from the normal three-brained being’s capacity for perceiving and distinguishing the full spectrum of ‘center-of-gravity vibrations’ (colors), beginning from before the second transapalnian catastrophe.

The sixth and last sojourn of Beelzebub on the planet Earth
Beelzebub’s final visit to Earth, spanning roughly three hundred years, was motivated by the appearance of firearms — a radically new means of destroying each other at a cold-blooded distance — and resulted in a comprehensive investigation of the causes of humanity’s degraded psyche, conducted through the profession of physician-hypnotist across Turkestan, Egypt, and eventually Russia.
- The immediate cause of Beelzebub’s sixth descent was witnessing, through his teskooano from Mars, a new means of reciprocal destruction — firearms — where beings standing far apart could cold-bloodedly destroy each other without the escalating fear-and-self-preservation dynamic that previously explained the psychology of warfare.
- Previous processes of mutual destruction were psychologically explicable: once surrounded by carnage, beings instinctively valued their own existence and, unable to reason sanely, destroyed as many enemies as possible to survive, reaching a state of ‘bestiality.’
- Firearms removed this psychological escalation entirely, making destruction cold-blooded and therefore inexplicable by Beelzebub’s former logical-psychological framework — requiring fresh investigation on the ground.
- Beelzebub chose the profession of physician-hypnotist because it was the only contemporary profession that allowed access to all castes and classes, inspired enough trust to evoke a degree of sincerity, and could simultaneously provide genuine medical help — sincerity having otherwise been destroyed in contemporary humans by two causes: inner psychic disharmony preventing self-criticism, and the class system producing only haughtiness or servility in all relationships.
- The atrophy of sincere self-criticism arose because data for ‘self-remorse’ kept appearing as behavior became less becoming to three-brained beings, but instead of correcting behavior, beings began habitually suppressing ‘self-criticism’ to maintain ‘self-calming,’ gradually destroying the capacity entirely.
- The atrophy of sincerity toward others arose from the division into castes, which crystallized two opposite organic properties — haughtiness and servility — that automatically paralyze any relationship ‘on equal terms’ and thus any genuine mutual communication.
- Contemporary physicians on Earth have degenerated from the role of zirlikners — beings who voluntarily devote their existence to helping others fulfill being-obligations — into professionals whose genuine desire to help depends entirely on how wealthy the patient’s household smells, ranging from ‘beaten dog’ servility toward the rich to contemptuous haste toward the poor.
- Young physicians ‘stuff’ themselves with names of medications, and their entire medical practice consists of writing these names on prescriptions; the pharmacist then typically prepares a generic barrel-mixture regardless, as illustrated by the Moscow pharmacist who prepared Dover’s powder with soda, burnt sugar, and 2% quinine instead of opium — indistinguishable by sight or taste, undetectable by analytical chemists who simply copy formulas from German pharmaceutical guides.
- Of thousands of medications, only three sometimes produce real results: opium (discovered in Maralpleicie), castor oil (used for Egyptian mummies, knowledge originating with the Akhldanns), and quinine extracted from the cinchona tree.
- The word ‘doctor’ — invented by Germans to designate academic merit — spread globally as a form of address for all physicians, generating dangerous confusion: Ahoon’s misadventure in Berlin illustrated how a woman in labor was left alone for over half an hour while he successively found a ‘doctor of philosophy’ and a ‘doctor of jurisprudence’ before a headwaiter helped him locate an obstetrician.
- “Mullah Nasr Eddin’s formulation: ‘For our sins, God has sent us two kinds of physicians, one to help us die, the other to prevent us from living.’” —Mullah Nasr Eddin
- The incident illustrates how German-originated linguistic inventions, like aniline dyes and academic title-inflation, create unintended civilizational consequences through their overlooked specific peculiarities.
- I became categorically convinced, as a result of my experimental investigations, that most of the causes of the strangeness of their psyche lie, not in that usual consciousness in which they have automatized themselves to exist during what they call their ‘waking state,’ but in the consciousness which, thanks to their abnormal ordinary being-existence, was gradually driven back within their common presence and which, although it should have been their real consciousness, remains in them in its primitive state and is called by them the ‘subconscious.’
- The beings of the Russian community exhibit a sharply dual individuality — described by Mullah Nasr Eddin as ’turkeys’ — because they have Asiatic organic and psychic heredity forged over centuries yet are straining to become European ‘peacocks,’ having left behind the ‘crow’ without arriving at the ‘peacock,’ and exist as neither-fish-nor-flesh: ‘a half and a quarter plus three-quarters.’
- The cause of this duality is a discordance between the ’tempo of the place of their arising and existence’ (Asiatic) and the ‘form of their being-mentation’ (attempting to be European), compounded by the early signs of the ‘particular functioning of their common presence’ (later manifested as Bolshevism) already visible in many of them.
- German aniline dyes, which can change all natural colors except genuine natural black, are metaphorically to blame: since crow feathers are genuine black, Russians cannot be dyed peacock-colored by European culture no matter how hard they try.
- Beelzebub’s attempt to establish a chemical laboratory in St. Petersburg for psychological experiments was defeated by a two-month nightmare of bureaucratic circularity — routed between departments, police commissioners, parish priests, and specialists — because the staff had no mechanical habit for such permits since none had ever been applied for, and the real method was to act contrary to official procedure.
- The project was finally abandoned because the official doctor required a full physical examination, and Beelzebub could not undress without revealing his tail, which would have exposed his non-human nature and ended his ability to remain among them.
- The situation illustrated that in this community, the only beings who obtained what they had objective right to were those who knew and acted according to the ‘abnormal ins and outs’ — against the laws rather than in conformity with them.
- The People’s Temperance League, founded to combat Russia’s epidemic alcoholism, was destroyed from within by ’learned beings of new formation’ who had been placed in leadership positions by hereditary power-possessors seeking to spare themselves effort through ‘self-calming’; their intensely crystallized ‘corporate feeling’ turned all productive activity into factional intrigues against those (including Beelzebub) whose counsel came from outside the corporation.
- Beelzebub observed the early germ of what would later fully manifest as ‘Bolshevism’ — a ‘particular functioning of their common presence’ arising from the combination of the cosmic law of Solioonensius with markedly deteriorating conditions of ordinary being-existence.
- The ’learned beings of new formation’ who became physicians and then power-possessors were the most dangerous sources of misunderstanding because their common presence interwove characteristics of three separate contemporary types: power-possessing beings, learned beings of new formation, and professional physicians.
- The ceremony of being ‘presented to the Tsar’ — regarded as extraordinary good fortune throughout all continents — subjected Beelzebub to such intensive management by an important general and his adjutant (who drilled him in every movement, word, and eyelid-blink) that he endured more inner experiences in that single day than in all centuries of personal sojourns among them, yet never noticed what the Tsar actually looked like.
- The adjutant, a ‘mama’s and papa’s darling,’ initially manifested ‘bon ton’ automatically, then switched to automatic ‘commanding and ordering about’ once he concluded Beelzebub belonged to a lower caste — a perfect illustration of the haughtiness/servility duality crystallized by the class system.
- The absurd presentation procedure, though designed to honor, compelled such intense being-experiencings through its artificial constraints that it accidentally produced more inner material than almost any other event of the sixth sojourn.

Hypnotism
The hypnotic state, unique to Earth’s three-brained beings, arose because their psyche split into two independent consciousnesses — a false ‘waking’ consciousness built from artificial impressions and a suppressed real consciousness (the subconscious) containing intact sacred impulses of Faith, Hope, Love, and Conscience — and this split can be temporarily bridged by altering blood circulation tempo, a technique first discovered in Maralpleicie and revived by the Italian abbot Pedrini and Dr. Bambini.
- The hypnotic state is unique to Earth’s three-brained beings and would not be known anywhere in the universe if they did not exist; it arose after the destruction of Atlantis when their ‘zoostat’ (spiritual functioning) split into two independent consciousnesses — one active during waking, the other (the real consciousness, called ‘subconscious’) active during sleep.
- From a certain age onward, two different tempos of ‘inkliatzanikshana’ (blood circulation) develop in their presence, each evoking one of the two independent consciousnesses; and vice versa, the intensive functioning of either consciousness evokes its corresponding blood circulation tempo.
- The hypnotic state consists specifically in the functioning of their real (sub)consciousness being active simultaneously with the waking-state functioning of their planetary body — normally these two never coexist.
- The ‘false consciousness’ that now dominates waking life is not real consciousness but a localization of impressions accumulated from the abnormal artificial conditions of existence — intentionally reinforced by ’education’ — while the sacred data for genuine consciousness (subconscious) remain in a primitive, unelaborated state that always believes, always loves, always hopes.
- From birth, parents and teachers intentionally fix in children’s logicnestarian localizations only impressions derived from artificial, abnormal existence — called ’education’ — causing the localization of false consciousness to dominate while sacred data remain isolated and unelaborated.
- It is precisely in the subconscious that the Very Saintly Ashiata Shiemash had observed the data for the fourth sacred impulse, Objective Conscience, still unatrophied — which is why this split has cosmic significance for the hope of human redemption.
- The hypnotic state can be induced by altering the ’extent of filling of blood vessels’ (shifting the center of gravity of blood pressure from its waking-state location to its sleep-state location), which temporarily suspends the false consciousness and allows the sacred data of genuine consciousness to blend with the functioning of the waking planetary body.
- The gazing-at-shining-objects method only works when the subject can concentrate thought and feeling through faith, fear, expectation, or passion — it fails entirely in ‘hysterical’ beings who have lost this capacity.
- Beelzebub’s own invention — direct specific action upon the blood vessels themselves to produce the required circulatory change — worked on any being including one-brained and two-brained creatures such as quadrupeds, fish, and birds, without requiring the subject’s own concentration.
- Although this ‘hypnotism’ or, as they prefer to say, this branch of their ‘science,’ arose and became official only recently, it has already become another of the serious factors for a still greater confusion of the psyche of most of them, confused enough without this, and for deranging still further the functioning of their planetary body.
- The modern revival of hypnotism was initiated not by the English professor Brade or the French physician Charcot (the former had unmistakable hasnamussian properties, the latter was a ‘mama’s darling’) but by the Italian abbot Pedrini investigating the nun Ephrosinia, who fell into a hypnotic state when gazing at a Persian turquoise in a portrait frame, with the phenomenon then studied systematically by Pedrini and Doctor Bambini together.
- When Pedrini and Bambini discovered that almost any three-brained being gazing long at certain shining brilliant objects falls into this state, and that the manifestations during the state depend on which experiences were predominant during earlier periods of life when a connection with shining objects was accidentally established, they began using this property for medical purposes.
- Mesmer, an honest and humble Austrian-Hungarian learned being, had earlier observed the real duality of consciousness clearly and was close to understanding it, but was ‘pecked to death’ by learned beings of new formation — a pattern still repeated; just before Beelzebub’s final departure, a French scientist who had found a cure for cancer was being similarly destroyed.
- The sacred process ‘antkooano’ — perfecting of Objective Reason through the mere flow of time, as all cosmic truths become known to everyone on a planet — is no longer possible on Earth because learned beings of new formation ‘peck to death’ every colleague who discovers something genuinely new, thereby preventing the universal sharing of truths that this process requires.
- On planets where antkooano operates, the excess of the Holy Reconciling force obtained during assimilation of cosmic truths crystallizes in beings the data for engendering ’egoaïtoorassian being-will’ — the foundation of genuine individual development — without requiring personal conscious labor.
- Ashiata Shiemash had counted on antkooano as one of the mechanisms that could still help humanity; Beelzebub’s investigations of Ashiata’s activities led him to this understanding.
- Being-hanbledzoïn — the ‘blood’ of the kesdjan body — is a cosmic substance entering beings through breathing and skin pores from the transformation of elements of other planets and the sun; it serves to nourish and perfect the kesdjan body, and its deliberate direction by a skilled practitioner into another’s presence is the most direct means of inducing the hypnotic state.
- Three distinct types of cosmic substance compose the blood of three-brained beings: planetary-transformation substances serve the planetary body (entering through food); hanbledzoïn from other planets and the sun serves the kesdjan body (entering through breath and skin); and the sacred aiëssakhladonn from direct emanations of the Sun Absolute serves the highest ‘soul’ body (assimilated only through aiësiritoorassian contemplation).
- Since humans shifted from fulasnitamnian to itoklanotz existence, hanbledzoïn-type substances no longer get assimilated for their intended purpose; instead they accumulate in atmospheric strata and periodically enter bodies in concentrations that cause the disease contemporaries call ‘grippe,’ ‘influenza,’ ‘dengue,’ and other names.

Beelzebub as professional hypnotist
Beelzebub’s practice as a physician-hypnotist in Turkestan was so successful that his planetary body became disordered from overwork, and the conditions that led him from Chinese Turkestan through Russian Turkestan to Egypt and eventually to Europe illustrate both the spreading plague of pernicious habits (opium, hashish, vodka) and the way in which abnormal being-existence continuously multiplies harmful factors.
- The pernicious organic habits of opium-smoking and hashish-chewing were prevalent in Chinese Turkestan, while vodka-drinking dominated Russian Turkestan; all three habits not only degrade the psyche to the point of becoming ‘utterly farcical’ but cause irreversible degeneration of specific important parts of the planetary body.
- Beelzebub had already accumulated wide experience in hypnotism from previous investigations of the subtleties of the human psyche, making him exceptionally effective; within days of beginning practice, hundreds of patients attended daily consultations while rival physicians sat in empty consulting rooms awaiting ’lost sheep.’
- The intensity of therapeutic success generated such love and near-reverence from ordinary beings of all classes that the impulse of ’love of kind’ arose strongly in Beelzebub’s presence, leading him to develop his improved blood-vessel technique to avoid harming himself through excessive expenditure of hanbledzoïn.
- Beelzebub’s departure from Turkestan was forced by a combination of total exhaustion from overwork and the impossibility of organizing rest there because his physical appearance had become recognized by almost the entire population, making every human encounter an implicit petition for help — illustrating how genuine therapeutic success in a broken environment becomes self-defeating.
- He had given himself an ’essence-word’ — a binding personal oath — to remain among humans until he had fully clarified all causes of their abnormal psyche; this prevented returning to Mars for rest even when his planetary body was disordered.
- He traveled to Cairo specifically because Egypt was then an ideal rest destination for ‘well-off’ beings from all continents, and because he wished to revisit the Pyramids and Sphinx — the sole pitiful remnants of the majestic works he had witnessed being built during his fourth sojourn.
- Contemporary Egypt retained almost nothing of its former magnificent architecture, destroyed either by the beings themselves in wars and revolutions, or buried under sands resulting from a planetary tremor during which the island ‘Siapoora’ (north of Cyprus) gradually sank over five years, causing extraordinary tides that raised vast quantities of sand from beneath the sea.
- Beelzebub’s program in Egypt included daily walks toward the Pyramids and Sphinx — sole surviving remnants of constructions he had witnessed firsthand during his fourth visit — combining physical rest with the activation of data for pleasant memories.
- The mummies of Egypt were created by the descendants of Akhldann initiates using knowledge transmitted from Atlantis: keeping bodies for half a month in castor oil, then introducing the sacred neutralizing force of the holy Omnipresent Okidanokh (dissolved in a corresponding way) to permanently arrest decay.
- The desecration of a pharaoh’s hermetically sealed burial chamber by contemporary Egyptians — who broke into it to ‘despoil the sanctuaries of their ancestors’ — released the separately concentrated sacred neutralizing force of the Okidanokh stored there since antiquity, which then entered the bodies of those present and, lacking corresponding ‘substrata,’ caused the inevitable sacred rascooarno (total destruction) to occur in their presences.
- This event proved Beelzebub’s earlier claim — that nothing from past civilizations reached the present — to be incorrect: the Akhldann knowledge of preserving bodies was transmitted through Egypt’s initiated descendants and survived as ‘mummies’ that exist even today.
- Every cosmic presence must maintain a balanced state of all three sacred substance-forces (Holy Affirming, Holy Denying, Holy Reconciling); an excess of any one force unconditionally causes the sacred rascooarno — total destruction of ordinary existence — in that presence.

Beelzebub in Russia
Beelzebub’s account of his activities in Russia — including failed attempts to organize a chemical laboratory, the collapse of the People’s Temperance League through factional intrigue, his presentation to the Tsar, and Mullah Nasr Eddin’s analysis of Russians as ’turkeys’ — reveals how the cosmic law of Solioonensius, combined with severely degraded conditions of existence, was already generating the inner preconditions for what would later manifest as Bolshevism.
- The multiplicity of mutually incomprehensible languages — unique to Earth among all inhabited planets — means that a being traveling sixty miles from home can become absolutely helpless, unable to ask for necessities or understand a word spoken to him, while efforts to establish a single planetary language fail because representatives of powerful communities refuse to adopt a language belonging to a militarily weak nation (ancient Greek) even when it is linguistically superior.
- The proposed common languages were ancient Greek (rich vocabulary but spoken by small powerless modern Greece), Latin (poor vocabulary, product of shepherds), and Esperanto — rejected immediately even by those who proposed it, since a practical language requires many centuries of normal being-existence to form, not invention in a study.
- Representatives did not know that a community becomes temporarily ‘great’ or ‘important’ not from its members’ qualities but from which part of the planetary surface requires, for the universal trogoautoegocratic process, more vibrations from radiations or the process of sacred rascooarno at a given period.
- The germ of ‘Bolshevism’ — a ‘particular functioning of the common presence’ arising from the combination of the cosmic law of Solioonensius with markedly deteriorating conditions of ordinary being-existence — was already visible in many Russian beings during Beelzebub’s stay, manifesting as a specific kind of inner agitation that would later crystallize across the whole community.
- The cosmic law of Solioonensius intensified a particular crystallization of automatic ‘being-data’ in the power-possessing beings of this community, producing manifestations so devoid of immediate being-impulses that they seemed to lack the data for impulses proper to beings entirely.
- This dual individuality of Russian beings — the discordance between Asiatic organic tempo and Europeanizing mental formation — was itself a predisposing condition that made the specific Solioonensius-driven crystallization take the particular form it did in this community.
- Mullah Nasr Eddin’s definition of Russians as ’turkeys’ — neither European ‘peacocks’ nor Asian ‘crows’ but an ungainly in-between — was illustrated when a Russian general accompanied by Cossacks escorted a Persian official through Isfahan, the Cossacks serving as the ’thoroughbred turkeys’ surrounding the ‘molting crow,’ hoping their radiations would strengthen his remaining feathers.
- The turkey, though useful when killed in the ancient way (its meat superior to all other birds), is in its living state a strange bird with a psyche impossible to understand, whose defining feature is finding it necessary to swagger and puff itself out even when no one is watching, driven purely by imagination and silly dreams.
- German aniline dyes, which can change all natural colors except genuine black, are metaphorically responsible: crow feathers being genuine black, Russians cannot be dyed peacock-colors regardless of how earnestly they attempt Europeanization.
- The People’s Temperance League, an institution of genuine social importance founded to combat Russia’s epidemic alcoholism, was destroyed by the crystallized ‘corporate feeling’ of the learned-physician-power-possessors placed in its leadership — who channeled all energy into factional intrigues against anyone whose useful counsel came from outside their corporation, including Beelzebub.
- Hereditary power-possessors had insisted on including ’learned physicians’ in the League’s leadership in order to spare themselves being-effort through ‘self-calming’ — the inner overlord that had become the sense and aim of their existence — inadvertently ensuring the League’s destruction.
- The triple-nature of physician-power-possessors (combining traits of hereditary power-possessors, learned beings of new formation, and professional physicians) made them more dangerous sources of misunderstanding than any single type alone.

A change in the appointed course of falling of the intersystem ship Karnak
The ship’s captain requests permission to alter course to stop at the Holy Planet Purgatory, and Beelzebub additionally requests a further stop at the planet Deskaldino to visit his first educator Saroonoorishan, establishing the transitional frame narrative between major sections of his tales.
- Beelzebub wishes to visit his first educator Saroonoorishan on planet Deskaldino before returning to Karatas, expressing that gratitude toward the ‘prime creator of genuine being’ is one of the most precious impulses that can arise in a being.
- The planet Deskaldino is difficult to reach due to the solar system ‘Salzmanino’ lying on the direct route, which contains cosmic concentrations transforming the substance ‘zilnotrago.’
- Beelzebub had previously visited Saroonoorishan on his way home after receiving his pardon, and received the ‘creator-benediction’ he considered most dear and precious.

Just a wee bit more about the Germans
Beelzebub poses an ironic ‘problem’ to Hassein — to deduce why Germans invariably sing a song celebrating ‘Blödsinn’ (stupidity) and ‘Stumpfsinn’ (dullness) — using it as an exercise in active mentation to understand the specific psychic character of Germans, who inherited the Greek tradition of inventing means to weaken logical being-mentation.
- The Germans, as direct successors of the ancient Greeks as inventors of all kinds of science, also inherited the Greek propensity for inventing maleficent means for weakening logical being-mentation, exemplified by their grammatical rule of placing negation after affirmation, which conditions listeners to emotionally commit to a proposition before learning it is negated.
- The song ‘Blödsinn, Blödsinn, Du mein Vergnügen / Stumpfsinn, Stumpfsinn, Du meine Lust’ (Stupidity, my pleasure / Dullness, my delight) is sung at every German gathering and solemnity.
- The grammatical rule of saying ‘I want this not’ instead of ‘I do not want this’ produces a ‘being-diardookino’ (experiencing) in the listener who must first consider the proposition as real before it is negated.

France
Beelzebub’s extended residence in France reveals that the French are actually the most ‘patriarchal’ and ‘modest’ of Europeans, but the international ‘foreign Paris’ of Montmartre has been constructed entirely by non-French beings and serves as the basis for a false planetary reputation of French depravity — a misperception sustained by the ’education’-induced incapacity of observers to perceive reality directly rather than through pre-implanted associations.
- The reputation of French beings as the most ‘depraved’ and ‘immodest’ of all peoples is directly opposite to reality — the French are in fact the most patriarchal and modest of European beings — but visitors experience only the ‘foreign Paris’ of Montmartre, which is operated entirely by non-French beings for other foreigners.
- The Grand Café on Boulevard des Capucines was staffed entirely by Italians, the brothels run by a Spanish Jew with Polish, Viennese, Jewish, Italian, and African women but no genuine Frenchwomen, and the Montmartre nightclubs operated exclusively for foreign visitors.
- The ‘Grand Duke’s tour’ — the term for Montmartre nightlife — was named after Russian ruling-class visitors who pretended to noble titles, and the restaurants in Montmartre are now largely Russian establishments staffed by former aristocrats.
- Beelzebub’s solitary contemplation in Montmartre generates a ‘being-sarpitimnian sensation’ — the second time in his existence — of revolt against the ’lack of foresight’ of Most High Sacred Individuals, whose failure to foresee the comet Kondoor collision set in motion an entire chain of cosmic misfortunes that continue to condemn Earth beings to spiritual languishing.
- The chain of unforeseen consequences: collision not foreseen → organ kundabuffer implanted → organ removed but consequences not foreseen to persist → higher being-bodies coated but unable to perfect sufficiently → condemned to languish in exterior planetary forms.
- Beelzebub observes that across centuries — Samlios, Koorkalai, Babylon, and now Paris — the behavior of beings in their cultural centers has remained essentially identical, with only clothing and national names changed.
- A jolly American dancing teacher in Paris illustrates the planetary absurdity of ‘suggestibility’: Americans travel to Paris specifically to learn the fox trot — an American dance — because learning it in Paris gives it the prestige of ‘Paris fashion,’ making them pay more for what they could learn at home for nothing.
- “The American’s explanation: ‘If I had my school in my native country, not only would my family starve to death, but I should not even be able to rent a damp basement in New York.’” —American dancing teacher
- He further explains that Americans ‘study’ Europe by riding Book and Son’s tourist buses where half-consumptive ‘sleepy-types’ mumble memorized descriptions — the goal being not knowledge but the ability to say they ‘saw everything.’
- The contemporary three-brained beings there ultimately lose even the very need for grasping in its entirety everything they see or hear for the first time; so that what is newly seen and newly heard merely serves as a shock, arousing associations based on information previously implanted in them and corresponding to these new impressions.
- The maleficent practice of ’education’ — which implants false and fantastic notions into children before their faculties are formed — permanently conditions beings to perceive all new experiences only through pre-existing associations rather than direct sensation, explaining why observers systematically misperceive French culture.
- After ’education,’ every being’s functions adapt to respond only to the sum of false implanted ideas, and new impressions serve merely as shocks arousing corresponding stored associations rather than genuine new perception.
- This incapacity for direct perception is self-reinforcing: beings are not merely ignorant of reality but have lost even the ‘being-need’ to grasp what they see or hear in its entirety.
- A hasnamussian fashion invented in Paris for women to cut their hair — spreading to England and America — is identified as a direct cosmic cause of increased ‘women’s diseases’ including vaginitis, uteritis, ovaritis, and cancer, because female beings are ’negative principle’ sources in the sacred Triamazikamno and cannot independently alter their cosmic function.
- In ancient precedent: cutting of women’s hair in the country ‘Uneano’ (now Kafiristan) produced the ‘Amazons,’ and in ancient Greece produced the ‘religion of the poetess Sappho’; in contemporary England and America it has produced ‘suffragettes’ and ‘Christian Scientists’ and ’theosophists.’
- Female beings as the ‘passive principle’ of the sacred Triamazikamno cannot have independent manifestations — only sources of the ‘affirming principle’ can be ‘major’ — making the judges who acquitted hairdressers on grounds of legal majority cosmically incorrect.
- French ‘fairs’ — held in town squares where religious and moral discussions once occurred — represent the ruling class’s means of ‘calming’ ordinary beings, analogous to Russian vodka and English sport, but are distinguished by providing genuine harmless diversion without damaging planetary bodies.
- Fairs offer rides called ‘pigs,’ ‘chameleons,’ ‘whales,’ cheap food, and every form of gambling from Monte Carlo roulette to snip-snap-snorum — everything that temporarily diverts beings from the enslaving influence of fashion invented by hasnamusses.
- The power-possessing beings of France unconsciously benefit ordinary beings by providing this diversion, even though the conscious aim is egoistic control.

Religion
Beelzebub traces how all five great surviving religions — Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Lamaism — were founded on genuine teachings of Sacred Individuals sent from Above, but were immediately distorted by hasnamussian power-possessors and psychopathic ordinary beings into ‘children’s fairy tales,’ and are now being actively destroyed by contemporary humans including through a Jerusalem university, the closure of Turkish dervish monasteries, and the Anglo-Tibetan war.
- All religious teachings on Earth arise through the same mechanism: Sacred Individuals are actualized from Above to help beings decrystallize kundabuffer consequences; after their death, followers collect their teachings into a ‘whole,’ which is then immediately distorted by the ruling class for political aims and by psychopathic ‘authorities’ who pick at the teaching like ‘crows on a jackal’s carcass,’ causing inevitable splitting into sects.
- The two fixed modes of behavior that corrupt every religion: ruling class beings use it for political aims under the formula ‘Religion for the State or the State for Religion,’ while psychopathic beings with ‘vanity’ and ‘parasitism’ become authorities on trifling details and generate endless variant teachings.
- The result is that religions multiply like colors in the rainbow, producing as many variants as there are languages — the ’thousand-tongued hydra’ — while the original teaching becomes unrecognizable.
- The teaching of Saint Moses was so well designed that if adopted even approximately, it could have decrystallized all kundabuffer consequences, but his followers immediately mixed into it the entire fantastic doctrine invented by King Koniutsion to stop poppy-seed chewing, resulting in an unrecognizable hodge-podge.
- The organic hatred of other communities toward Jews — crystallized as ’envy’ when the Jewish community was well-organized and powerful — became fixed in beings’ presences even after the Jewish community ceased to be powerful, demonstrating how even a small kundabuffer property like envy generates enormous historical consequences.
- Jesus Christ was actualized in a planetary body of the race chosen by Moses, taught truth and love, and the sacred process of almtznoshinoo was performed on his kesdjan body after his death — but this real event was distorted by ‘wiseacring’ contemporaries into the fantasy of physical resurrection, which destroyed genuine faith by producing logical dissonance in later beings who correctly sensed that buried persons do not rise again.
- The distortion was criminally consequential: beings who refused the illogical resurrection story lost all faith in any genuine truth Jesus uttered, while the majority who accepted it literally became ‘psychopaths’ whose faith was automatic and disconnected from real understanding.
- The authentic teaching was preserved unchanged by the Brotherhood of the Essenes, passing from generation to generation as a means of freeing from kundabuffer consequences.
- How many centuries have passed since I began to observe the existence of the three-brained beings of this ill-fated planet! In the course of these long centuries many Sacred Individuals have been sent from Above with the special aim of helping them to deliver themselves from the consequences of the properties of the organ kundabuffer; yet nothing has changed here and the whole process of ordinary being-existence goes on just as before.
- Judas was in reality the most faithful and devoted apostle of Jesus Christ, whose wise and disinterested initiative at the Last Supper — when he offered to distract the authorities so the others could complete the preparations for the sacred almtznoshinoo — made possible the continuation of Christ’s divine mission; his portrayal as traitor in Holy Writ was likely inserted to diminish Christ’s own perceptiveness.
- “At the moment of despair, when guards surrounded them and preparations for almtznoshinoo were impossible, Judas said: ‘I will go and do everything necessary so that you have the possibility to fulfill this sacred preparation without hindrance. Meanwhile, set to work at once.’” —Judas
- The representation of Judas as a conscienceless traitor who sold Christ for thirty pieces of silver is ‘unprecedentedly unjust’ and causes beings to miss that it was through Judas that they benefited for twenty centuries from a ‘blessed hearth of tranquillity.’
- The Islamic religion, founded by Saint Muhammad on genuine cosmic truths, was particularly corrupted by power-possessors who invented elaborate Paradise blessings, and was deliberately kept divided into Sunni and Shia factions by European communities who stoke this organic hatred to prevent Muslim unification that would threaten European dominance.
- European communities actively use intrigue to increase animosity between Sunnis and Shi’ites because nearly half of Earth’s beings are Islamic followers, and only as long as internal hatred prevails will they pose no serious threat to European communities.
- The closure of dervish monasteries in Turkey — where the teaching of Muhammad had been preserved in relatively uncorrupted form through initiated dervishes — extinguishes the last embers that might have rekindled the original teaching.
- The Anglo-Tibetan military expedition destroyed the last surviving group of nearly-perfected initiates who preserved Saint Lama’s secret teachings, because a stray bullet killed their leader before the sacred almtznoshinoo preparation could be made — and the subsequent botched attempt to contact his kesdjan body produced a sobrionolian explosion that annihilated all seven initiates, their books, and everything within one square mile.
- The small ‘group of seven’ traced lineage from direct initiation by Saint Krishnatkharna through Saint Buddha to Saint Lama, preserving a continuous transmission of uncorrupted instruction across centuries.
- The six remaining brethren’s three-day vallikrin attempt without the required preparatory particle of hanbledzoin caused their hanbledzoin to accumulate chaotically, intersecting with intense atmospheric Okidanokh (thunderstorms) to produce the nichto-oonichtono explosion transforming everything within a shmana into prime ethernokrilno.
- Contemporary humanity is now actively destroying the last remnants of all five great religions simultaneously: a Jerusalem university signals the end of Christianity, the prohibition of the fez and yashmak and dervish closure signals the end of Islam in Turkey, and the Tibetan expedition destroyed Lamaism — leaving beings without even the minimal moral support these distorted teachings previously provided.
- Opening a university for Jewish youth in Jerusalem — the city for which Christians waged Crusades costing half the male population of Europe — signals that even the memory of Jesus Christ’s existence there is being replaced by a parking lot for automobiles.
- The Turkish rulers, having studied as ‘German Junkers’ along the Unter den Linden, are imposing European forms on Turkey just as the Russian Tsar once did on Russia, which will predictably degenerate Turkey’s psyche in the same way Russia’s was degenerated.

The Holy Planet Purgatory
Beelzebub explains the nature and cosmic function of the Holy Planet Purgatory — where the most unfortunate highest being-bodies languish due to unforeseen cosmic consequences — then provides an extended cosmological account of how the Universe was created through the modification of the sacred laws of Heptaparaparshinokh and Triamazikamno, and how three-brained beings arose as instruments for the cosmic Trogoautoegocrat.
- The Holy Planet Purgatory is the heart of the entire Universe — concentrating all final results of everything that functions — and Our Endlessness visits it often not for cosmic administrative reasons but to personally console the most unfortunate highest being-bodies dwelling there, whose suffering is unparalleled in the Universe.
- The planet is simultaneously the most beautiful, richest, and most varied in the Universe — with ten thousand springs, twelve thousand species of songbirds, and flora, fauna, and foscalia from the entire Megalocosmos — yet its inhabitants suffer inexpressible anguish.
- The egolionopty system of transportation — moving freely in all directions at speeds up to second-order sun falling velocities — was invented specifically for this holy planet by Archangel Herkission.
- The entire Universe was created because the Heropass (Time itself) was gradually diminishing the volume of the Sun Absolute, threatening its eventual destruction; Our Endlessness responded by changing the independent ‘Autoegocrat’ system into the ‘Trogoautoegocrat’ system, making the Sun Absolute’s maintenance dependent on forces flowing from newly created external cosmic concentrations.
- Before creation, the Sun Absolute existed alone in empty space filled only with ethernokrilno, maintained by the sacred laws of Heptaparaparshinokh and Triamazikamno functioning independently — the ‘Autoegocrat’ system.
- The Force of Divine Will participated only at the very beginning; subsequent creation proceeded automatically without further participation of Divine Will, thanks solely to the modified fundamental cosmic laws.
- The sacred law of Heptaparaparshinokh was modified in three of its seven stopinders: one was lengthened (the ‘mechano-coinciding mdnel-in’), one was shortened (the ‘intentionally actualized mdnel-in’), and one was disharmonized (the ‘harnel-aoot’ or fifth stopinder) — these modifications created the conditions for the arising of all cosmic concentrations and ultimately for the arising of life.
- The fifth stopinder (harnel-aoot) has a distinctive asymmetric property: in conditions of many external vibrations it produces only external results; in absolute quiet it keeps all results internal; in intermediate conditions it divides results between external and internal.
- Knowledge of these particularities of the sacred Heptaparaparshinokh enables three-brained beings to understand all second-order and third-order cosmic laws, and to crystallize the divine property ‘semooniranoos’ (impartiality) in their common presence.
- Our Common Father Creator Endlessness, having decided to change the principle of the maintenance of existence of that still unique cosmic concentration and sole place of His Most Glorious Being, first altered the functioning itself of these two primordial sacred laws, and He made the greater change in the law of the sacred Heptaparaparshinokh.
- The sequence of creation proceeded from the Theomertmalogos (Word-God, emanation of the Sun Absolute) acting on ethernokrilno to form second-order suns, which radiated to produce third-order suns (planets), which through the modified fifth stopinder produced ‘similarities to the already arisen’ — the beginning of life — giving rise to the naming of all cosmoses: Protocosmos, Deuterocosmos, Tritocosmos, Microcosmos, Tetartocosmos, and Megalocosmos.
- The triumphant cherubim and seraphim named all concentrations at the completion of creation: the seven active elements crystallized in tetartocosmoses were named protoëhary, deuteroëhary, tritoëhary, tetartoëhary, pentoëhary, exioëhary, and resulzarion.
- The radiations were named: Theomertmalogos (Sun Absolute), mentokithzoïn (second-order suns), dynamo-oomzoïn (each planet), photoinzoïn (microcosmoses), hanbledzoin (tetartocosmoses), astroluolucizoïn (all planets of a system), polorotheoparl (all second-order suns), and the aggregate ‘common-cosmic Ansanbaluiazar.’
- Three-brained beings arose when Our Endlessness directed the tetartocosmos completing process of sacred Heptaparaparshinokh to crystallize — in addition to substances for the common-cosmic exchange — also those active elements from which independent formations could be coated with the possibility of acquiring individual Reason, creating a three-part structure: planetary body, kesdjan body (from mentokithzoïn), and highest being-body (from Theomertmalogos).
- The idea of using beings as helpers in administering the enlarging world first arose in Our Endlessness when He observed the automatic independent movement of tetartocosmoses on planetary surfaces.
- The three kinds of being-Reason correspond to the three bodies: Objective Reason (highest being-body as initiating center), okiartaitokhsa (functioning kesdjan body), and automatic third Reason (habitual reactions from crystallized impressions in planetary body).
- Beings on Earth and Karatas are ‘keschapmartnian’ (half-beings) because the last fundamental stopinder of Heptaparaparshinokh — the sacred ashagiprotoëhary — is located not in the center of their planets but in their satellites (Moon and Anulios for Earth, Prnokh-Paiokh for Karatas), which is why reproduction requires two separate sexes rather than proceeding through one being as in the original tetartocosmoses.
- On the unique planet Modiktheo in the Protocosmos system — which produces the most ideal three-brained beings and from which most angels and archangels nearest to Endlessness arise — reproduction proceeds through three sexes called ‘martna,’ ‘spirna,’ and ‘okina,’ making its beings ’triakrkomnian.’
- The three holy forces of the sacred Triamazikamno were named by Earth beings before kundabuffer consequences fully crystallized: God the Father (affirming), God the Son (denying), God the Holy Ghost (reconciling) — and their prayers correctly addressed these as the sources of ‘rejoicings, revolts, and sufferings.’
- After the first sacred rascooarno (death), the kesdjan body rises to its corresponding atmospheric sphere where it eventually undergoes a second rascooarno, leaving the highest being-body to exist independently — but if this highest part has not perfected its Reason to the required degree before the kesdjan body decomposes, it must desperately seek other kesdjan bodies to inhabit, producing the ‘okipakhalevian substitution’ that Earth beings fantastically distort into theories of ‘metempsychosis’ and ‘reincarnation.’
- The connection between a particle of hanbledzoin preserved from a being and that being’s risen kesdjan body persists only until the planet completes one revolution around its sun — after which all atmospheric substances including these connections are transformed for the local trogoautoegocratic process.
- The ‘spiritualism’ branch of contemporary Earth science built around reincarnation fails to consider that the kesdjan body rises immediately after death by the law of tenikdoa (gravity), making all séance phenomena ‘merely the fruits of their idle fancy.’

Book III
Beelzebub tells how men learned and again forgot about the fundamental cosmic law of Heptaparaparshinokh
The sacred Law of Heptaparaparshinokh was discovered, elaborated, and then progressively lost on Earth through two cycles—once in Atlantis and again in ancient China—primarily because the emergence of ’learned beings of new formation’ with an inherency for wiseacring distorted and destroyed genuine knowledge each time it arose.
- Three-brained beings with genuine Objective Being-Reason can appear even in degenerate epochs, but only through the rare combination of being raised in conditions untouched by abnormal ‘oskiano’ (education) and guided by a teacher whose conscience remains active in his subconscious.
- The maleficent means called ’education’ gradually atrophies the possibilities for free development of Objective Being-Reason during the preparatory age, leaving responsible beings with only a strange conglomeration of automatically perceived artificial impressions.
- A guide who fulfills being-partkdolgduty creates for the young being every kind of inner and outer factor for perceiving impressions that crystallize the power to be ‘svolibroonolnian’—not identified with or affected by externals through inherent passions.
- The sacred Law of Heptaparaparshinokh was first discovered on the continent of Atlantis by a being named Theophany, who noticed that a mastic mixture always solidified into seven distinct plane surfaces regardless of how it was poured, leading to the science called ’tazaloorinono’ or the ‘science of the seven aspects of every whole phenomenon.’
- Theophany was pouring a mixture of patetook plant extract, pine resin, and cream from Khenionan goat milk to make a chewing mastic when he first observed the law-conformable sevenfold crystallization.
- This branch of genuine science on Atlantis was so widely known that it was never encoded in a legomonism, and thus was entirely lost when the continent perished.
- The Law of Heptaparaparshinokh was rediscovered after the loss of Atlantis by the twin brothers Choon-Kil-Tess and Choon-Tro-Pel in ancient China, who through exhaustive investigation of opium, white light, and sound proved that all three share the same sevenfold inner structure and reciprocal law-conformableness.
- The brothers were princes of Maralpleicie and direct descendants of a learned member of the Society of Akhldanns; they became learned in medicine and then general science, escaping to China when Maralpleicie began to be buried under sands.
- Their experimental apparatus, the ‘alla-attapan,’ demonstrated that the higher vibrations of one cosmic result always give direction to the lower vibrations of other transitory results, and that a colored ray directed upon an active element of opium transformed it into another element corresponding to that ray’s vibrations.
- They called their discovery the ‘Law of Ninefoldness’ because they added to the seven ‘doostzakos’ two obligatory ‘gap aspects’ they named ‘sooansotoorabitzo’—the first identification of the two mdnel-ins of the sacred Heptaparaparshinokh.
- Three practical fragments of the ancient Chinese knowledge of the Law of Ninefoldness automatically reached contemporary beings: methods for extracting active elements from opium, the law of combination of colors, and the seven-toned scale of sound—but all were stripped of their essential meaning and cosmic significance.
- Contemporary chemists know only 42 of nearly 400 active elements of opium identified by the great brothers, including morphine, codeine, papaverine, and narceïne, and use them exclusively for satisfying consequences of the organ kundabuffer rather than for understanding cosmic law.
- The seven-toned scale reached contemporary beings through Chai-Yoo, a scientist of ’new formation’ who learned the construction of the lav-mertz-nokh apparatus through genuine initiates and then simplified it into a publicly accessible instrument called the ‘king,’ dropping the red quarter-tone and hair strings entirely.
- Although the process of transformation of substances for the continuation of the species no longer takes place either in us or in your favorites exactly as it did in the first tetartocosmoses who were transformed into beings, we shall nevertheless take your favorites as an example, since the transformation of cosmic substances for the needs of the Most Great Common-Cosmic Trogoautoegocrat proceeds through their common presence exactly as it did through the first tetartocosmoses.
- King-Too-Toz, a follower of the great twin brothers, built the ’lav-mertz-nokh’—a multi-stringed apparatus with white whole-tone strings, black half-tone strings, red quarter-tone strings, and hair strings for chaotic gap-vibrations—to demonstrate the law of evolution and involution of vibrations with mathematical precision.
- The hair strings, placed at the two ‘gaps’ in each octave corresponding to the mdnel-ins of the Heptaparaparshinokh, produced vibrations not determined by their tension but by atmospheric temperature, surrounding sound vibrations, and the radiations of nearby beings.
- The red quarter-tone strings flanking the hair strings had to be constantly retuned by ear to blend with the chaotic vibrations; if not blended, they acted ‘cacophonously and injuriously’ on nearby beings, even to the extent of their total destruction.
- The confusion between the Chinese seven-toned octave and the Greek five-toned octave arose because they have entirely different origins: the Chinese division was based on knowledge of the Law of Heptaparaparshinokh, while the Greek division was based solely on the natural ‘restorials of the voice’ available to Greek beings under their particular conditions.
- A being named Gaidoropoolo resolved the apparent contradiction by arguing mathematically that ‘mi’ and ‘si’ in the Chinese scale are really half-tones equivalent to Greek half-tones—pacifying contemporary scientists without revealing that the two systems have no common basis.
- ‘Restorials’ are those tones produced freely and without tension during chanting, determined by geographical, hereditary, religious, and nutritional conditions; some groups can produce only three restorials while producing forty distinct sounds, while others have thirteen or seventeen whole-tone divisions.
- The piano brought by Beelzebub from Earth can still demonstrate the laws of vibrations because its whole-tone and half-tone tuning preserves the Chinese method, and if the ‘mi’ and ‘si’ strings are produced in a hermetically sealed room they either cease immediately or involute back to ‘do’ and lower ‘fa’ respectively—proving the reality of the two mdnel-in gaps.
- The ’nirioonossian world sound’—the absolute ‘do’ used by the twin brothers as their standard unit—was first discovered by their ancestor, a learned member of the Society of Akhldanns, who noticed that the same definite sound was heard twice yearly after meteorological perturbations near the future city of Gob.
- Vibrations of the tone ‘mi’ and ‘si’ cannot acquire vivifying power without fusion with preceding vibrations starting from the center-of-gravity vibrations of ‘sol,’ paralleling how the first being-food cannot acquire vivifying power until transformed into ‘being-pentoëhary’ in the cerebellum.
- The emergence of ’learned beings of new formation’—beings with a psycho-organic need to be considered learned and an irresistible tendency toward ‘cunning wiseacring’—combined with the weakening of sensitivity in genuine initiates, caused genuine knowledge to be introduced to the unworthy, after which it was progressively distorted and almost entirely forgotten.
- Once genuine initiated beings began admitting ’new formation’ types and sharing true information with them, this branch of knowledge left the protected transmission through genuine initiates and became the possession of many, whereupon distortion accelerated each generation.
- Certain surviving fragments continue to pass through a very limited number of genuine initiates even to the present, and Beelzebub expresses that it would be a great misfortune if contemporary scientists got hold of these remnants, as they would cook a ‘scientific porridge’ that would extinguish the barely smoldering Reason of all other beings.

The Bukharian dervish Hadji Asvatz Troov
Beelzebub’s encounter with the dervish Hadji Asvatz Troov in the mountains of Upper Bukhara reveals that a single contemporary terrestrial being had independently rediscovered and experimentally verified the laws of vibrations from the ancient Chinese science—and that this being was the only contemporary human capable of recognizing Beelzebub’s true non-terrestrial nature.
- Hadji Asvatz Troov, a former wealthy Bukharian merchant turned dervish, had spent forty years in an underground cave in Upper Bukhara conducting experimental research on cosmic vibrations, developing measuring apparatuses (‘vibrometers’) made by his deceased friend Kerbalai Azis Nooaran—a former watchmaker—that did not exist anywhere else on Earth at that time.
- His interest in the science began when his monastery’s sheikh noticed that sacred canticles played on wind instruments produced none of the specific spiritual effects that the same melodies played on stringed instruments had produced in his previous monastery, leading Asvatz Troov to investigate why.
- The joint project to make a mechanical dulcimer with hammer mechanism led to the discovery that the principle of vibrations being inversely proportional to string length does not always hold for ‘common blending of harmonic consonance,’ sparking forty years of dedicated research.
- Asvatz Troov demonstrated that two distinct kinds of vibrations exist—‘creative vibrations’ from certain metal or goat-gut strings and ‘momentum vibrations’ from air flow—by showing that five tones played on an air-pipe instrument left flowers unchanged after ten minutes, while the same tones played on a correctly tuned piano caused the flowers to completely wither within that period.
- The grand piano in the cave had been purchased at auction by Kerbalai Azis Nooaran from a departing Russian general’s goods, specifically because its strings were made of the metal required to produce ‘creative vibrations’ rather than merely momentum vibrations.
- The piano was tuned according to the laws of vibrations in the ancient Chinese science ‘shat-chai-mernis,’ taking into account local geographical conditions, atmospheric pressure, room dimensions, mean temperature, and even the total number of emanations from the human beings who would be present during experiments.
- Asvatz Troov used the modified ‘monochord’ of Pythagoras—which he called the ‘vibrosho’—to demonstrate that specific vibrations directed at a specific location on a being’s body would produce a boil at that exact location; when Beelzebub’s leg produced no boil while the dervish Bogga Eddin’s did, Asvatz Troov was plunged into existential crisis believing his science had failed.
- Asvatz Troov wrote the predicted location and type of physical effect in a sealed envelope before beginning the experiment, then attached it to the ceiling to be read afterward—a rigorous precaution against post-hoc adjustment of his prediction.
- Beelzebub could not explain the truth—that his non-terrestrial body was unaffected because his nature differed from that of terrestrial beings—in the presence of the ordinary dervish Bogga Eddin, due to an oath imposed on his tribe by the Very Saintly Ashiata Shiemash prohibiting communication of true information to ordinary terrestrial beings.
- Until now there has not been a single instance in which the truths I have discovered concerning the laws of vibrations failed to yield in their manifestations the precise results I expected.
- Asvatz Troov’s experiments with colored fabrics demonstrated that every form of life has a ‘subjective chord of vibrations’—the sum of vibrations from all its organs—and that colors alter this chord in measurable ways, with the vibrometers showing that many contemporary humans have a lower total number of vibrations than a dog because emotional function, which generates the greatest subjective vibrations, has nearly atrophied in them.
- A specially woven fabric from the plant ‘chaltandr’ whose natural color neither changes other vibrations nor is changed by them was used as a neutral tent for ‘architectural experiments,’ demonstrating that the size, shape, and interior curves and angles of a space significantly improve or worsen the subjective vibrations of beings within it.
- The most harmful vibrations for contemporary terrestrial beings were found to be those produced by ‘medical remedies,’ followed by ‘works of art’ including pictures, statues, and music—a systematic inversion of what these things are believed to do.
- The gas and electric lighting in the underground domain had separate origins: the gas came from an underground stream washing over minerals that produced inflammable gas—debunking the local religious belief in an ‘undying fire’ left by the holy Khdrelias—while the electric lighting was created by Kerbalai Azis Nooaran through placing specific ores in the underground stream and connecting terminals to modified accumulators.
- The electric current produced by this ore-in-stream method had the crucial property that its number of vibrations remained absolutely uniform and constant, unlike the Bunsen elements whose vibration count fluctuated—making it suitable for Roentgen apparatus experiments that required consistent vibration counts.
- A young European friend of Asvatz Troov had brought the Roentgen apparatus and Bunsen elements specifically to investigate why X-ray treatment of cancer, while atrophying the primary ‘concentration’ of the disease, simultaneously facilitated metastasis to other locations—a phenomenon their joint experiments subsequently confirmed and explained through vibration theory.
- Asvatz Troov was the sole contemporary terrestrial being who recognized Beelzebub’s true non-terrestrial nature through the unexpected absence of the boil on Beelzebub’s leg—the first such recognition in all of Beelzebub’s long sojourns on Earth—and Beelzebub promised to give him an explanation that would confirm both his science’s truth and his own greatness as the greatest terrestrial scientist since the twin brother saints.
- Beelzebub had full ‘moral right’ to tell Asvatz Troov the truth because the dervish had become ‘kalmanuior’—a three-brained being of that planet with whom it is not forbidden from Above to be sincere—but was prevented by the presence of the ordinary dervish Bogga Eddin.
- The impossibility of a boil forming on Beelzebub’s leg actually proved, rather than disproved, the precision of Asvatz Troov’s science—but this consoling fact could not be communicated without revealing Beelzebub’s true nature.

Beelzebub in America
North America represents the apex of civilizational degeneration, where the universal obsession with ‘dollar businesses’ has destroyed all genuine professional competence and organic social life, while the prohibition of alcohol has paradoxically ensured its universal consumption—all illustrating the extent to which contemporary humans act automatically rather than consciously.
- The basic population of North America is occupied exclusively with ‘dollar businesses,’ while all trades and professions indispensable to ordinary collective existence are practiced only by temporary immigrants from other continents seeking wages—a condition so extreme that if these specialists stopped coming, the established order of existence would collapse within a month as no American could even bake bread.
- The root cause is a law giving parents rights over children combined with the installation of ‘dollar savings banks’ in schools, which together crystallize love of dollars as the sole motivating force of existence by the time beings reach responsible age.
- Americans are so completely governed by dollar businesses that they can do as they please only on Sundays; the businesses do not depend on the beings but the beings entirely depend on the businesses.
- The prohibition of alcohol in America has produced the opposite of its intended effect: all inhabitants now consume it, including those who would never have done so under normal conditions, with alcoholic beverages openly served in restaurants under ’lemonade’ and ‘Vichy water’ labels through a simple coded gesture system.
- The alcoholic beverages served in New York restaurants are prepared exclusively on old barges lying offshore, with recipes reportedly involving sulphuric, nitric, and hydrochloric acids alongside Professor Kischmenhof’s ‘incantation’—a satirical reference to industrial adulterants.
- Beelzebub uses the prohibition example to illustrate to what extent the possibility of crystallizing data for sane being-reflection has atrophied in contemporary power-possessing beings who enact such obvious absurdities.
- The satirical digression about Professor Kischmenhof’s ‘incantations’—including a recipe for German wartime ‘chicken soup’ made by chasing a chicken through a kitchen with open doors—mocks both German wartime food chemistry and the broader contemporary tendency to dress mechanical or fraudulent processes in the language of science.
- The chicken could be reused until it ‘went on strike’ by declining to breathe; at that point it was solemnly roasted and served at an invitation dinner where the hostess would invariably claim it was a genuine ‘Pamir pheasant’ sent by a consular nephew.
- The satire targets the same inherency found throughout Beelzebub’s tales: the automatic replacement of genuine substance with convincing performance, whether in cuisine, science, art, or religion.

Beelzebub’s survey of the periodic process of the reciprocal destruction of men, or Beelzebub’s opinion of war
Beelzebub explains that periodic reciprocal destruction among humans persists not because beings cannot see its horror but because the consequences of the organ kundabuffer—especially self-calming, egoism, and vanity—prevent power-possessing beings from ever sustaining sincere efforts toward its abolition, making all societies formed to end war, including the new League of Nations, inevitably futile.
- Humans do sometimes perceive the horror of war with full sincerity, but sincere thinking is only possible when all bodily needs are satisfied—a condition available only to power-possessing beings, who then fail to act on their insights because their habitual self-calming immediately reasserts itself once discomfort fades.
- Power-possessing beings recline in their ‘soft English armchairs’ to digest meals and allow thoughts to flow automatically from stomach and sex-organ reflexes, wandering freely without any intentional being-effort—contemplating personal grievances, horse races, and stock prices rather than planetary horror.
- Even when sincerely agitated by war’s horror—because someone dear was killed, or they were deeply offended, or they sensed their own death approaching—these beings vow to act but forget their vows as soon as their stomachs are empty again, and often half-intentionally accelerate the next war for egoistic profit.
- Societies formed to abolish war consistently fail because beings with ‘resurrected conscience’ who found them are rapidly overwhelmed by other important power-possessors who join not from conscience but from social obligation, and who then redirect affairs toward personal egoistic aims.
- Beelzebub traces five such societies: in Tikliamish with the motto ‘God is where man’s blood is not shed’; in Mongolplanzura with ‘Love one another and God will love you’; in Egypt with ‘Only if you learn to create a flea can you dare to kill a man’; in Persia with ‘All men are divine, but if a single one is killed by another, then all will be reduced to nothing’; and in Mosulopolis, ‘The Earth Belongs to Our Common Creator and Is Equally Free for All His Creatures.’
- The Mosulopolis society came closest to success because it contained no power-possessing beings and consisted only of old, disillusioned, honorable men with fewer properties of egoism and vanity—yet it too failed.
- Beings with Objective Reason—who could actually contribute to ending war—are structurally excluded from power-possessing societies because ‘importance’ requires either great wealth or fame, and those qualities are now only attained by beings in whom the sacred function of Conscience is entirely absent, while Conscience is always connected with Objective Reason.
- “The result is a closed loop: those with the Reason and Conscience to solve the problem cannot become ‘important,’ and those who are ‘important’ lack both the Reason and Conscience to solve it—what Mullah Nasr Eddin called ‘pull at the tail and the mane gets stuck, pull at the mane and the tail gets stuck.’” —Mullah Nasr Eddin
- The contemporary League of Nations will provide its members with plausible excuses for ‘cocktail parties’ far from their wives’ watchful eyes, constituting its primary practical benefit.
- This particularity, with all the results ensuing from it, is the chief cause of all their abnormalities and of their so to say ‘muddled logic.’
- Even if power-possessing beings could not abolish war immediately, they could achieve lasting benefit for future generations by abolishing two specific practices: the glorification of war participants as ‘heroes’ with decorations, and the pseudo-scientific doctrine that periodic reciprocal destruction is biologically necessary to prevent overpopulation.
- The practice of calling soldiers ‘heroes’ and rewarding them with honors automatically predisposes the growing generation’s psyche toward the state habitual during war-processes; eliminating this would destroy ‘automatic factors’ shaping children’s formation.
- The doctrine that war prevents intolerable overpopulation is one of the ‘idiotic ideas’ transmitted as ‘articles of faith’ from generation to generation that destroys the instinctive sensing of cosmic truths proper even to one-centered and two-centered beings throughout the Universe.
- The psycho-organic need of all terrestrial beings ’to teach others sense’ and ‘put them on the right road’—itself arising from the property of seeing defects only in others and never in oneself—is the master key to managing relations with them, since pretending to want to learn from anyone produces instant goodwill and ‘adoration.’
- Every being there without exception—old and young, men and women, even the ‘misbegotten’—has this need; a being ‘under somebody’s thumb’ to the point of humiliation will be more indignant than anyone if a king cannot control thousands of subjects, and will write manuals on governance.
- The constant indignation at others’ defects produces futile ‘moral sufferings’ that act oppressively on the psyche and make beings ‘instruarnian’ (nervous) even in manifestations unrelated to the original cause, rendering their existence ‘arch-tragicomic.’
- The ‘criminal property’ of reciprocal destruction has become so embedded in human flesh and blood after hundreds of centuries that it cannot be eradicated in a few decades; the only effective work is toward future generations, not contemporaries, and requires acknowledging that an inherency fixed for centuries cannot be decrystallized quickly.
- Since even beings of earlier epochs who had attained ‘self-remembering’ could achieve nothing effective against war, beings whose Reason has only reached the degree Mullah Nasr Eddin describes as ‘Look! He already begins to distinguish mama from papa!’ are wholly incapable of resolving it.
- The first reason the League of Nations will fail is structural (no Objective Reason present), and the second is that this property has been crystallizing as organic function through hereditary transmission for so many generations that it functions identically to the consequences of the organ kundabuffer.

Beelzebub’s opinion, man’s understanding of justice is in the objective sense an accursed mirage
The widely held concept of external Good and Evil, first introduced in a specific technical sense by the Atlantean sage Makary Kronbernkzion, was later catastrophically misunderstood by subsequent generations, causing humanity to externalize responsibility for their own actions and thereby block the possibility of genuine self-perfecting.
- The righteous souls on the Holy Planet Purgatory, learning through Beelzebub’s etherograms to Tooilan about the psyche of Earth beings, identified the idea of external Good and Evil as the fundamental cause of all psychic abnormalities in terrestrial three-brained beings, and petitioned the Creator to send a Messenger to uproot it.
- Fifty candidates for return to the Sun Absolute undertook the investigation, and the entire holy planet debated the findings in all its zarooariakhs, ultimately adopting a near-unanimous resolution.
- Their investigation revealed that the first being responsible for the idea was Makary Kronbernkzion, whose perfected highest being-body was already dwelling on the holy planet as a candidate for the Sun Absolute.
- Makary Kronbernkzion was a learned member of the Society of Akhldanns on Atlantis who, after a sincere recognition of his own nullity, began conscious labor and intentional suffering, and eventually engraved a boolmarshano titled ‘The Affirming and Denying Influences on Man’ using the terms Good and Evil in a precise technical sense to describe the two fundamental opposing cosmic forces.
- In his boolmarshano, ‘Good’ denoted the descending, passive, involutionary force flowing from the Prime Source, and ‘Evil’ denoted the ascending, active, evolutionary force striving to return — both necessary components of the universal Triamazikamno.
- Beelzebub personally located a surviving copy of the boolmarshano — made from chirniano tusks — through an Aisorian priest in Urmia and by excavating a buried half near an undisclosed populated center in Asia.
- Makary Kronbernkzion was not personally guilty for the maleficent form the idea of Good and Evil later took; after his death, a priest named Armanatoorga built a full religious teaching on a distorted version of the idea, populating the world with invisible spirit-spreaders of good (angels) and evil (devils), which transformed a cosmic principle into a psychology of external blame.
- Armanatoorga taught that devils could be seen by sufficiently righteous men, and that their invisibility to ordinary people resulted from the devils’ own ‘suggestion’ — thereby making non-perception itself a sign of spiritual inadequacy.
- The real names of beings from Beelzebub’s own tribe, who had existed among humans in ancient times and whose long lifespans had led humans to call them ‘immortal,’ were later assigned to these devil-beings in the religious mythology.
- The crystallization of the idea of external Good and Evil in human psyches became the chief mechanism of ‘self-calming’: by attributing the causes of all bad manifestations to external forces rather than to their own criminal essence-egoism, humans eliminated the inner friction necessary for genuine self-development.
- The data for external Good and Evil became a ‘determining factor’ in the crystallization of all subsequent human worldviews — from science, philosophy, and politics to religion, law, and ethics.
- Beelzebub personally differs from the holy planet’s conclusion, arguing the real culprit was not Makary’s original usage but the subsequent degeneration of his technical terms into popular religious mythology.
- Our Common Father Endlessness, petitioned by the holy planet, commanded that Makary Kronbernkzion’s highest being-body should remain on the Holy Planet Purgatory rather than pass to the Sun Absolute — holding open the possibility of his ultimate redemption if Earth’s beings ever truly reform their existence.
- The Creator evidently hoped that Earth beings might yet realize their errors and begin to exist as proper three-brained beings, which would make the severe punishment of Makary’s being-part unnecessary.
- The fate of Makary Kronbernkzion’s highest being-body now depends exclusively on whether the three-brained beings of Earth choose genuine self-perfecting.

In the opinion of Beelzebub, man’s extraction of electricity from Nature, and its destruction during its use, is one of the chief causes of the shortening of human life
The extraction and destruction of ’electricity’ — which is in fact a blended form of the omnipresent sacred substance Okidanokh — depletes a cosmic substance essential to the atmosphere of every planet and to the higher being-development of all three-brained beings, and the abnormal existence of Earth’s beings is already measurably impairing the self-perfecting of beings on other planets like Mars.
- The toof-nef-tef (king) of Mars, an extremely old being of twelve thousand years, asked Beelzebub to consult high Individuals about why the ’noorfooftafaf’ (will-lessness) of Martian beings was increasing each year while their capacity for active mentation was proportionally decreasing.
- The toof-nef-tef had known Beelzebub since his youth when he was a plef-perf-noof (physician of body and spirit) — the professional path by which beings on almost all planets become their community’s chief.
- Despite years of intensive meditation on the problem, the toof-nef-tef could find no explanation and asked Beelzebub to seek the answer from Individuals of correspondingly higher Reason.
- Gornahoor Rakhoorkh, son of Beelzebub’s friend Gornahoor Harharkh on Saturn, independently discovered through experimentation that the operation of electrical dynamos (’life-chakhans’) reduced his own capacity for active mentation on the days they operated, leading him to dedicate his existence to studying the omnipresent substance Okidanokh.
- Gornahoor Rakhoorkh’s investigations proved that Okidanokh is a strictly proportioned component of every planetary atmosphere, and when it is depleted in one location it must be replenished from elsewhere — including from other planets’ atmospheres.
- His research showed that the possibility for three-brained beings to perfect themselves and ultimately blend with the Prime Cause depends exclusively on this substance; its destruction is therefore spiritually catastrophic.
- Electricity as used and destroyed by Earth beings is in fact the result of the blending and reciprocal destruction of two parts of Okidanokh, and humanity’s ever-increasing industrial use of electricity is depleting this sacred substance from Earth’s atmosphere, forcing compensatory flows from neighboring planets including Mars.
- Earth beings have repeatedly throughout history accidentally discovered means of extracting parts of Okidanokh for naively egoistic purposes, but never previously on the current industrial scale.
- The atmospheric depletion of Okidanokh on Mars — caused by flows compensating for Earth’s destruction — directly explains the increasing will-lessness and mental deterioration of Martian beings that had puzzled the toof-nef-tef.
- Gornahoor Rakhoorkh’s discoveries caused his producer Gornahoor Harharkh to completely decrystallize all his previous convictions, destroy his famous non-radiating lamp and all apparatus for investigating Okidanokh, and declare his lifelong study of the substance ’the greatest misfortune’ and an ‘irredeemable sin.’
- The elder Gornahoor Harharkh had been Beelzebub’s essence-friend since the beginning of his exile and had invented a non-radiating lamp to study Okidanokh without destroying it — now his own son’s research convinced him the entire investigation was harmful.
- This reversal illustrates how even well-intentioned scientific inquiry into cosmic substances can, through the acquired knowledge itself, reveal that the inquiry was itself part of the problem.

Beelzebub explains to his grandson the significance of the form and sequence which he chose for expounding the information concerning men
Beelzebub explains that his tales were deliberately structured to produce the ‘Reason of understanding’ rather than the ‘Reason of knowing’ in Hassein, because only when new information is processed through the ‘zernofookalnian friction’ of all three centers does it crystallize as genuine being-knowledge rather than inert stored data.
- Beelzebub structured his entire account of Earth beings to crystallize in Hassein not ready-made convictions but the raw material for his own logical confrontation, deliberately refraining from offering personal opinions first so that data would be processed through active mentation rather than passive reception.
- The two organizing principles were: never state personal opinion before giving facts, so conclusions do not arrive pre-formed; and relate events in a specific sequence so that the process of active comparison produces ‘zernofookalnian friction’ between the three centers.
- Beelzebub also consistently avoided evoking the impulses of indignation, offense, or vexation in Hassein, because these impulses block the free crystallization of genuine understanding.
- The ‘Reason of understanding,’ proper to three-brained beings throughout the universe, blends new information permanently into a being’s essence through zernofookalnian friction and thereby also generates the sacred substances abrustdonis and helkdonis needed to coat and perfect the higher being-bodies.
- In the Reason of understanding, the Holy Affirming is a newly perceived impression, the Holy Denying is corresponding data already in another localization, and the third force is the ‘being-autokolitzikners’ — results of actualized being-partkdolgduty that are formed only through conscious labor and intentional suffering.
- The Reason of knowing, by contrast, deposits impressions at random without classification, so they remain mere information that can evaporate or shift based on circumstances, and produces no lasting spiritual substance.
- Contemporary Earth beings almost exclusively possess the Reason of knowing, in which all three centers function independently without genuine co-ordination, so that every impression settles in whatever localization happens to be active rather than being processed through the integrated whole being.
- Beelzebub learned the ’laws of fixing and unfixing of ideas in the localizations of beings’ during his sojourn as a professional hypnotist, and applied this knowledge in designing his pedagogical approach with Hassein.
- The decrystallization time of impressions stored through the Reason of knowing depends on the quantity and quality of impulses in a given being — strong emotional reactions temporarily fix data but cannot create genuine understanding.
- Beelzebub commands Hassein to allow his planetary body to rest for a period equal to the duration of their voyage before resuming intensive active mentation, because tempos change only ‘katznookitzkernally’ (with law-conformable gradualness), and forcing one part of the presence to change tempo faster than the whole produces ‘dezonakooasanz’ (lopsidedness).
- The planetary body, though the largest part of a being, is unconscious and dependent; the essence must therefore be just toward it and not require more than its possibilities allow at any given time.
- Most contemporary Earth beings, through abnormal education, become permanently lopsided — one center overdeveloped while the others atrophy, making harmonious active mentation impossible.

The inevitable result of impartial mentation
The culminating chapters show Hassein’s genuine compassion for Earth beings triggering the reunion ceremony in which Beelzebub’s horns are restored and he is revealed as a sacred Podkoolad — one of the rarest degrees of Reason in the universe — and Beelzebub offers his final verdict that the only means of saving Earth beings is implanting in them an awareness of their own inevitable death.
- Hassein’s involuntary weeping at the thought of half-formed higher being-bodies trapped in Earth beings — while he himself was experiencing bliss during the collective meal — demonstrates that the data for genuine being-compassion have been successfully crystallized in him through Beelzebub’s carefully structured teaching.
- Beelzebub identifies this weeping as proof that the impulse expressed in the inscription over the gate of the Holy Planet Purgatory — ‘Only he may enter here who enters into the position of the other results of My labors’ — is beginning to function in Hassein.
- Beelzebub is glad precisely because this crisis occurs at the threshold of responsible age, when the crystallizing data will become part of Hassein’s permanent being rather than passing states.
- A great cosmic egolionopty arrives bearing a ceremonial procession, and through a sacred ceremony in which all beings of Beelzebub’s nature contribute particles of their own horns, Beelzebub’s horns are restored — growing to five forks, revealing that he has attained the Reason of the sacred Podkoolad, the last gradation before the sacred Anklad.
- The five-fork formation appeared spontaneously beyond what the contributed substances could account for, indicating that the final degree of Reason had arisen from Beelzebub’s own merits, not merely from the ceremony.
- Even the venerable archangel leading the procession prostrated himself before Beelzebub, because the archangel’s own Reason was only at the level of sacred Degindad — three degrees below the Anklad — while Beelzebub now stood one degree higher.
- When Hassein asks what Beelzebub would say if the Creator Himself asked for a summary judgment on whether Earth beings can be saved, Beelzebub answers that the only possible means would be to implant a new organ causing every person to constantly sense the inevitability of their own death and the death of everyone around them.
- Such a constant awareness would destroy the egoism now crystallized as the dominant psychic principle of Earth beings and simultaneously uproot the tendency to hate others that flows from egoism and generates all their destructive mutual relationships.
- This proposed organ is explicitly compared to kundabuffer — the organ whose consequences have destroyed Earth humanity — but with opposite properties: instead of preventing perception of reality, it would force a single inescapable perception of ultimate reality.
- Ahoon’s prostration before the newly revealed Beelzebub — confessing that his long service had been marred by disrespectful manifestations rooted in his inability to sense Objective Reason beneath a physically ordinary exterior — illustrates how even devoted proximity to wisdom cannot substitute for the developed inner capacity to perceive it.
- “Beelzebub’s response invokes Mullah Nasr Eddin: ‘Don’t shed tears in vain like the poor crocodile that snapped at the fisherman and missed biting off his lower left half’ — implying that regret without changed capacity is useless.” —Beelzebub
- Ahoon attributes his blindness specifically to the lack of elders in his preparatory age who could have crystallized in him the psychic factors for actualizing being-partkdolgduty — locating the failure in educational conditions rather than innate deficiency.

From the author
Gurdjieff concludes the first series by appending a lecture on human individuality — comparing the four-part composition of a real man (body, feeling, thought, and ‘I’) to a carriage, horse, coachman, and passenger — arguing that contemporary education produces only mechanical beings lacking genuine will or independent ‘I,’ and that liberation from this slavery, though rare, is possible through sincere self-observation and conscious labor.
- Every complete man should consist of four distinct personalities: the automatic thought-body (coachman), the feeling-organization (horse), the motor-reflex body (carriage), and the ‘I’ (passenger) — but contemporary education produces beings with only the first three, making them hackney carriages driven by any passing chance.
- The Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man had as one of its fundamental aims the education of each of the three independent parts separately and then in their reciprocal relationships, and the development of a genuine ‘I’ in each pupil.
- The coachman-cabby analog: semi-literate, competent at habit but incompetent at principle, motivated by tips and driven by appetite, working only under the lash — this is the ruling function of the ordinary contemporary person.
- Gurdjieff categorically denies that ordinary people possess genuine will; what they call ‘will’ is only the resultant of competing desires, and all their actions are automatic reactions to external impressions — a position he claims to share with contemporary ’exact positive science,’ which also regards man as a complex stimulus-response mechanism.
- The vivid example of a man terrified by a mouse yet unafraid of his own certain death demonstrates the incoherence of attributing rational will to ordinary humans: they fear what Nature permits them to fear (small frictions that sustain activity) and do not sense what would overwhelm their capacity to function.
- Real will — the ability to act from one’s own initiative according to one’s whole presence — exists only in those who have done the long inner work of harmonious development; it is a sign of high being, not an ordinary human faculty.
- Contemporary language has become so degraded — words carrying only relative meanings that vary with each speaker’s automatic associations — that genuine communication of ideas between ordinary people is impossible, and people confuse the shared sound of a word for shared understanding of its meaning.
- The word ‘world’ is offered as an example: asking educated contemporaries for an exact definition produces contradictory cosmological, philosophical, theological, and spiritualist definitions, none mutually acceptable — each person substitutes the first familiar sound-association for genuine comprehension.
- The Institute’s establishment of a special ‘correct language’ for its work was a necessary precondition for the study of mechanicality, because without it even the attempt to communicate findings about human psychology collapses into the same automatic association-play being studied.
- Man is a being who can do, and ’to do’ means to act consciously and by one’s own initiative.
- All human impressions are recorded on three sets of ‘reels’ in three separate localizations, and ‘memory’ as ordinarily understood is only the tiny fraction of this store accessible to conscious attention — but under hypnosis or other special states, every impression without exception, including experiences from the first days of life, is recoverable.
- New impressions are recorded both alongside similar previous impressions (by nature) and in chronological order, so each impression has multiple registration sites — but automatic associations replay whichever registration is most activated by current vibrations, independent of the person’s wish.
- The memory of a harmoniously developed real man tracks all impressions without exception, unlike the ordinary man whose accessible memory is only a small and shifting fragment of what was actually recorded.
- Great Nature has providentially protected humans from sensing the terror of their own inevitable death and other genuine existential horrors — because if they could truly sense these things, they would be paralyzed — but this protection is only possible because humanity has degenerated to a level where they serve only Nature’s immediate purposes, not higher cosmic ones.
- The small daily fears permitted by Nature — embarrassments, minor pains, social slights — function precisely to generate the stimuli, impulses, and strivings that keep ordinary people active and alive; without them, nothing would motivate action.
- The real man who has attained genuine being serves both Nature’s common purposes and his own ’egoistic’ perfecting simultaneously — while the mechanical man serves only Nature and disappears forever when no longer needed, ’like a sheep slaughtered for its meat.’
- Gurdjieff dissolved the Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man after his near-fatal automobile accident because, without his direct involvement, the enormous material requirements could not be met — and several senior pupils, revealed as hasnamuss-inclined, abandoned the work and opened their own derivative ‘workshops’ exploiting naive seekers.
- The Institute had grown to the point of preparing eighteen branches in different countries for the following year, all of which had to be abandoned along with everything created through what Gurdjieff calls ‘almost superhuman labor.’
- Gurdjieff states categorically that the Institute is ’liquidated completely and forever,’ partly to prevent naive people from being exploited by those falsely claiming its continuation.
